Some games on Steam can actually be launched without having Steam open, so that's something. Personally, I think Steam is rather unintrusive and basically a digital distribution service for games done well (especially because it has an offline mode, so you don't need to be online to play your games). But I can see how you could be opposed to any kind of DRM, even as basic as Steam's.

'The damsel in distress trope was used yet again to nerf the other three Princesses' What the hell? That's not how that trope works at all. Twi's friends were in more distress than the princesses, who even gave up their power voluntarily. And none of them were saved by a male character. Also yeah, Twilight's key episode and all that. And I don't see how it was nonsensical, it was obvious that the princesses' power was not enough to beat Tirek, so why give it away that easily? Come on, at least base your gripes on actual problems, like the princesses not thinking of Discord's knowledge of Twilight.

The problem with this is that while he calls himself an analyst, he seems to be delving way too far into review territory, as in listing things he liked/didn't like, and not actually analyzing the episode (plot, elements of style, etc.). At least that's the impression I got from his video on the S4 finale, which is the only one I've seen.

Well, I still see several ArbCom reviews happening there. They can't just ban everyone, after all (although I wonder what topic banning everyone who has ever edited the article before would do). Also, ArbCom is there to resolve user conflicts, not to assess the quality of the articles. At this point, it would probably take an unrelated journalist who does lengthy research on the topic (also including browsing/posting on 8chan to get their side) and who doesn't immediately back out when he sees something possibly offensive to give an actual neutral assessment of this thing. I fear that both pro- and anti-GG editors on Wikipedia are just already too biased to properly assess the situation.

Biased? Possible. I won't make a statement because I don't know. But 'they don't even pretend to care about'? After going through community sanctions and later a fully-fledged ArbCom case resulting in the banning of several users, enabling of broad sanctions and a 1RR edit rule? Honestly, I think they care very much, but they simply don't know what to do because the thing is so much of a clusterfuck and sadly not well researched by reputable journalists, but still gets an incredible amount of attention.

I'd like to note that the PMV that Seth linked isn't the first G4 PMV. This one was uploaded one day before, this one predates it by two days. And then there's this, which was uploaded before the show even started airing. The guy who made the linked PMV also made this, which may very well be the video which coined the PMV term, because it's from June 2010, using G1 footage. The acronym isn't expanded, but I think it might be supposed to mean 'Pony Music Video'. Although a bit of research shows that it can mean 'Picture Music video', too, so it's not clear.

Since I have a thing for orchestral music, I really like this piece (and Artem's other work). I already thought this was a nice song when I heard it on the show (even if I always thought that it sounds more like a national anthem than a carol), so this improves on that. If Seth says that he gets bored by posts with few comments, does that mean that he reads all of them? Or at least skims over the top comments on every post?

Google tells me either 'Did someone say false' or 'Did someone say the translation?', so I'm not sure what you want to say. Nice thing to know Latin though. I kind of wish I was better at it. I had courses for two years but I think they weren't all that good, especially the second year. I also haven't practiced since, so I'm slowly losing my knowledge. Most of it now comes from guessing through French and Spanish.

Versions 9 and up are more or less fine (and very safe if you enable all protection levels), but 8 and under should be avoided at all cost, they are simply outdated. Also, even the newer versions lack support of some features like in HTML5.
