I pay for my own out my own pocket since I work for a small company of two people. If i did not, I would have to pay thousands upon thousands more than I do if something happens and my inability to afford that would bankrupt me and then end up being added on to someone elses bill in the long run. People just dont get that portion of this. If people pay for it, it puts the burden of the cost on the insurance companies to pay but with everyone paying, it would cut down on what they have to charge everyone to stay afloat. Plus, the insurance company has more bargaining power than you and I have to force doctors and hospitals to pay a fair price.
