KY3 : Garage in Lebanon fixes cars for free | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfield, MO | Local News

I appreciate your responding back. I found this article late because just last week, after seeing the inside of where he was dwelling, no one should be living like that, it's bad and obviously he does not have the skills or know how necessary to live on his own, it was disgustingly bad, we've not lived in MO all that long and we had no clue how some of the more unfortunate live. So, we decided we needed to see what we could do to help this person. And, I'm curious why you think this should fall on the church? that the blame would lay on their shoulders for dropping the ball? who put a church in charge of helping these people? Are they the only entity given the authority to help? We don't go to church, and we don't expect someone who needs help to be at the mercy of a church, who can say yes or no. I think some churches have members who look out for other members in need, which is a very loving generous thing. But what if you are not a member said church, or any church? What is the criteria and level of help does that person gets? They, the churches, get to decide and qualify people, kind of like our government, but with much less oversight. So the difference confuses me, a person pays taxes to all our government programs that hopefully have strong oversight and also a church belonging person pays a 10% tithe on top of that tax to a church. Is this what makes people angry about paying taxes? They would rather not and pay into a church tithe and trust that it is handled well? They would rather trust a church/board over what happens to their money given than a regulated government? I guess to me it is one and the same. Except with government I can demand accountability through many different avenues. Which with churches, I don't know. Do you? Can you expect accountability or demand transparency from a church or non profit? Just sharing my thoughts. I"m trying to explain how needy people fall through the cracks and end up in worse shape, it's fairly easy. Do we have a citizen measuring stick? if you can't make the mark, we don't care about you? because then you are a drain on our country. Ps- good luck, sink or swim, no one cares. I wish KY3 had not run this story, because what it did was jam up, overwhelm and basically suck dry this resource. Now Moca has to hunt for funds to keep helping those in need. There are a lot of pretty poor people in MO, this organization covers quite a few counties. Anyway, thank you for responding to my come late to the article comment.

Don't ever say never. Catastrophes happen. Sometime in your lifetime you may need assistance. Be glad you live in a country that "attempts" to care, there are plenty who do not.

Really? not to sound cold hearted? lol, I think it sounds very cold hearted. Our rural neighbor is mentally disabled, he lives on a disability check of 600.00 a month, he has car trouble right now, he could use the help of these guys. He's spent his savings trying to fix it himself, which was a whopping $500.00. Now he's broke, no money for anything, period. What do you propose we do with mentally challenge individuals, get rid of them? I'd say he has about a 7th grade mental level, but at least he was taught in school how to drive, has paid for his own 1998 vehicle and insurance. What about those even less able to do this? What about those with Down Syndrome like Sarah Palin's son? He qualifies for Government disability assistance and probably gets it. He'll qualify for adult housing and help too, for the rest of his life unless those like you get your way. We are trying to get him a job through "another" one of our government assisted programs for low income people, Laclede Industries who employ disabled individuals doing various jobs like janitorial, yard maintenance, recycling, product packaging, etc, while supervised by a "normal" person whose paycheck comes from our taxes. Wow, what a crime, helping those who need help. This guy alone, no one has got him into the system, he's been forgotten since his father died 20 yrs ago, no food stamps, no medicaid, he lives in a falling down shack that should be condemned. So would it be okay with you if he lived in a box? During High School he was trained for a job at K-Mart, which he lost when they closed, but he was out High School and of the system by then. You make it sound like these people are here illegally and may be taking jobs from "normal" people. Get your head out the sand, try caring a little. If you don't want our fellow citizens dependent on government assistance what are you willing to do to help? This is a real life! Please try not to see things in such black and white terms, it's not that easy.

Mr. Bill, if media reporting was allowed to film facts as they occurred, wouldn't that be a good thing? What is wrong with capturing what happens in real time? It's the REAL deal. It's a public venue. All people, be they everyday folk, politicians or celebrities do and say things, good or not so, but should any person be able to protect themselves from media scrutiny just because they have money, power, lawyers or contracts that say no media? Appearing in public is not the same as private, like your own home or something non public. It's when reality is not captured, that alternate stories appear, and then you have no proof to the real story. Hiding things does not seem logical to me.

I don't appreciate a fraud, liar and grifter. She's all that. So no, I don't care for her. Why she can pull the wool over her fans eyes I don't understand. Perhaps it is blind love. Just don't give all your money to the snake oil salesperson named Sarah Palin. Love hurts.

Have you ever asked yourself why she had those ethics complaints filed against her? it's because they did have merit, do you think the personnel board is covering her arse? heck yeah. She does things that bring on ethical questions, that rogue girl, so why is anyone surprised complaints were made? she should not be blaming the people who filed complaints, she should be looking at her own behavior and taking responsibility for it. But no, instead she makes excuses for quitting and blames anyone but herself. She's pathetic.

When it was first announced nothing was said about rules or media, tickets were given on a first come first serve basis. It was LATER that the rules were announced. The college also stated those rules were required because of Sarah's (paranoid) CONTRACT.

pvaz, and the hard work Sarah Palin did to raise money to flit around to 5 different colleges before earning 1 degree, was to prance around in a swim suit, dress up in a pretty gown, play a flute, smile, look beautiful and answer canned questions. The kids at this college are committed to the school, truly do work hard for their education and help the college. They learn the rewards of hard work and they come away with a good work ethic. In all earnestness, I think they deserve a better example than Sarah Palin.

See, even a female Judge dealing with a special needs court case criticized Sarah Palin for toting Trigg all over the country as a prop. http://theimmoralminority.blogspot.com/2009/02/ju... "That kid was used as a prop," the judge said. "And that to me as a parent blew my mind."

One more thing, I do not consider her representive of 'main street middle class America'. She's far to wealthy and well off to say that. I consider myself middle class but maybe I'm actually poor. I could never afford $200,000 just for a building lot. Heavens no, most middle class are struggling right now and being very careful with money, worried about their jobs and having health insurance. Not Sarah Palin. She doesn't seem affected at all by this economic crisis and recession. She's kinda like the hot shots on Wall Street getting undeserved big bonuses, she's come out flying high.

Go to this blog if you'd like to see her monster huge house she's building. Yeah, she was going broke with legal fees defending herself against ethic complaints that had merit, NOT. You should read her Legal Trust Fund contract, but first read her beg for money click to pay here FAQ. She's crooked and reminds me of the Tv evangelists who milk gullible people for money, live an extravagant lifestyle, then get busted for corruption. Why should wealth come from religion? Save your money for a true needy cause. She's got so many questionable issues no one should be giving her money. Give locally to charitable causes, and check into their backgrounds before doing so. http://palingates.blogspot.com/ here is her house venture and tons of questionable Palin 'gates'. Educate yourself about this woman. And don't think the media is bashing her, lol, they are only reporting what should come out.

Oh believe me, I have listened to what she has to say and read what she writes, by the way, what is being posted by her on facebook does not always sound like her, why would someone believe she writes all of it? Put her out in public and let her answer direct questions and she'll crumble under the scrutiny. It's her star power that you love, that's fine, she can be a celebrity but she has no business in politics. And I'd say most people who live in the United States love their country so don't try and say the majority who voted for President Obama want this country destroyed, that is ridiculous. Try to think for yourself and contribute what you can in a positive way to our country, please? Try not to be so divisive. President Obama won the election fair and square, now let him do what got him elected.

Not only that. This president was duly, fairly and overwhelmingly elected into office. Me thinks those who lost squawk too much, love being obstructionists and no way deserve as much media attention as they get. They also so a dismal amount of respect for a standing president. That I find terribly unpatriotic, yet they think are so patriotic, strange.

Hey, I have morals and I can't stand her. A person can have morals and not approve of someone they don't think has any business in politics. Besides, what should be more important to her right now, politics or a special needs child and two other young children who need a parent there for them? Just the special needs child is a full time job. At least since she QUIT, she's hopefully there for him more. He should be in physical therapy, hopefully that is happening too. And I hated the fact that she exposed his infant sensory system to craziness and loud sounds toting him around on the campaign trail trying to garner votes from that segment of our society. Personally I don't think that was in his best interest. And speaks volumes about her parenting skills. She put politics and a job before her child, even Piper was pulled out of school and up too late too many nights for a child her age, all for mommy to campaign. I'm not sorry that I do not respect her actions. And that's just about parenting. Don't even get me going about her governing skills.

When you devoutly believe in the end times prophesies as a church goer thats fine, as long as you keep those beliefs out of government policy. And who could if they really believe this stuff? It's dangerous and unbalanced, no way to govern a nation. Besides, it's inflicting those beliefs on MILLIONS of people who don't agree and have other beliefs. How fair is that? That, is why there is separation of church and state. It has no place in any government.
