Big Government : In Bid to Boost Black Homeownership, Rick Santorum Fueled Housing Bubble That Led to Financial Crisi

$150,000 home for somebody who only makes 45,000 a year? What could possibly go wrong? A person with that as their only income should be buying a house at 125,000 or lower to be fiscally responsible. That or, surprise surprise, a down payment bringing it down to that level to make monthly payments affordable.

Breitbart.tv : Obama: Jesus Would Tax The Rich

For one thing God will ask much of those who have much, not you Obama. The ego on this man is ridiculous. Also God expects the rich to give away most of their belongings to help further his kingdom. Give away, not have it forcefully removed. I submit to you the following versus... [But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”] -Acts 5:1-4 Noticed Peter says "While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control?". Their biggest sin was not keeping the money but trying to do so in secret. They attempted to lie to the Lord and look just in the process. He clearly shows that it was their choice to sell their possessions. It was not taken by force. I've never seen anything in the Bible that suggests the rich be forced to give up their money. They should do so of their own accord. Also greed is on both sides when the poor (or even not so poor) are trying to force the rich to give money to them. Money should not be the focus of the rich or the poor. Rather God should be.

Big Government : AEI's Arthur Brooks: Make the Moral Case for Freedom

If you use the Bible as your basis of morality, a large amount of the rich and poor in this country are both immoral. The rich should give the majority of what they have to the poor and the poor should not be poor due to being lazy, should not envy the rich, and should not try to take their wealth forcefully.

Big Government : Teach Your Children Well ... and the Standardized Tests Will Take Care of Themselves

You want kids to start learning more? -Don't punish schools for low graduation rates. It only leads to reduction in learning quality for all. Schools make it easier to pass so the money keeps coming. -Start failing more kids. If they deserve to fail, don't give them an easy out. They can work for minimum wage the rest of their lives or try to improve their education later if they become more mature. This also means we have to stop handing out welfare so much. Let people fail or succeed by how hard they are willing to work for their future. Welfare is just another easy out for kids who don't want to do anything. -Find a way to judge teachers quality without test scores. If a student performs poorly on a test, you should go back and see what their class grade was. If it's an A or B then we have a teacher issue, if it's a D or F then of course they are going to perform poorly on test. They weren't doing anything in the class so what makes you think they are going to do well on the tests. This is the students fault, not the teachers. My wife is a high school teacher and I work for a school district. I see and hear a lot and I can tell you without a doubt the number one problem facing kids in school is their own laziness. Kids don't even try these days. Why? Because they know they don't have to. Schools try to do everything they can to pass students who don't deserve it. All the while the media and public focus on blaming teachers for it. Kids need to be allowed to fail or succeed. Stop passing lazy kids and start calling them out on it. I should also add that we don't work in a state with powerful unions in place. It's not one of those situations where teachers don't do anything because of their overwhelming union influence. That's a whole other issue. Didn't want to make it sound like I think all these teachers are blameless. I think there is a big problem in states that allow that kind of union power.

Well I'm not a millionaire. In fact my bank account is at under 100 dollars and we are working to squeak by this month. As long as we can feed the baby and ourselves, keep the lights on, and pay the rent we'll be happy. And I'm here to say about the millionaires... "They made that money all by themselves. How dare the government put its fingers on any of that money!" One thing he doesn't mention is that the government already does put its fingers on that money. To a higher percentage than my money. The real greed is in the people who covet the rich and look for happiness where they will find none.

I wasn't trying to say that any welfare at all or unemployment benefits were left principals only. Merely the incredibly loose requirements for welfare and the incredibly long term unemployment benefits the left would usually push for. But point taken.
I'd like to point out that in order for a real boom in educated workers, you're going to have to give them motivation. I know the article isn't a proponent of the following leftist principals but I think their effect are worth mentioning... Things like long term unemployment benefits and wide spread, easy qualification for welfare extremely effect the quality of our workers. Why? Because it takes away motivation. People have to be motivated to advance themselves. If they already get money for free from the government, why take the time to work hard and further their careers? Some people naturally have that drive. However, others don't and instead of forcing them to go make a living (even if it means taking a pay cut after losing a job), we give them handouts. That will never lead to a good work force. Just lazy and entitled people. I saw a picture today on FoxNews.com that was of the "Occupy Wall Street" protesters. One of their signs read, "This is not the future I was PROMISED." I think that pretty much says it. These people think they are owed something. Instead of pandering to that (like the Democrats love to do), we should be teaching or forcing people to go out there and work for what they want. That's what this country was built on, and that is what can bring our country back. I don't see that happening though. Each generation becomes more lazy and more entitled.

Breitbart.tv : Perry: Evolution Is 'Theory' with 'Gaps'

On practical applications of evolution, I’d love to see examples where macroevolution has helped in the development of anything. I have no problems pointing out or accepting what is or isn’t provable, what is or isn’t evidence, or what the evidence looks like. I will believe in God regardless of whether or not the evidence points toward evolution. Can atheists say the same thing? After all if the evidence points toward a creator, their entire belief system breaks down. Who is more prone to bias then? I’d also like to say I in no way mean disrespect toward you personally with any of this information. I’m simply conveying what I believe and my opinions on your comments. You did force me to research a little more and also re-research a few things. That’s never a bad thing.
