The occupation of the West Bank and the open air prison called Gaza is the root cause of almost all problems facing the Middle East. Israel doesn't desire peace or a two state solution. Israel, and particularly the Zionists, believe that they can control the United States indefinitely, and believe that they can force the US to act in any way Israel wants. They are deluded. Israel sees itself as Sparta, with the Palestinians in the role of Helots, forced to remain second class non-citizens forever, providing cheap labor, a manufactured "threat" to scare the Jewish populace.
