Big Government : Sorry, Gender Police: Boys Do Test Better in Math than Girls

So true!! There are definitely inherit differences between boys and girls. I also agree that it would be wonderful if everyone would understand that acknowledging differences does not mean saying that one gender is "less than." Ignoring those differences and forcing kids to pretend they are not there has done more harm than good in my opinion. My mom raised 2 girls, now I'm raising two boys. I remember when my oldest was only about 8 months old, she was already talking about the differences she saw.

Big Hollywood : Pop Culture Concern Trolls Attack Bristol Palin: 'DWTS' is Doomed, I Tell You! Doomed!

"It will go from being a dancing competition to a popularity competition. . ." Newsflash! Any show that lets people at home vote along with the judges, IS part popularity contest! I mean, are the people at home voting really looking at who did the paso doble the best or just voting for their favorite celeb? LOL

Big Hollywood : Newsflash Lefties: June Cleaver Was Ahead of Her Time

I went to college and got my degree. i worked for 3 years after college at my chosen career. Then my husband and I decided to start our family and I stayed home with the kids. That was our plan all along. I LOVED staying home with my kids. I work part-time now that both boys are in school full time, and I MISS those days when we were home together during the day! You said, "When a woman is completed by her paid career, that should be supported. However, those who don't outsource the responsibility for their young should be held up with equal esteem and accomplishment." Well said! Wasn't the point of the feminism movement--for women to have CHOICES? So why is one of those choices (stay-at-home-mom) looked down upon? That drives me crazy. Interestingly enough, I live in a small town (hence my nickname here! lol) and a large portion of the moms in this town stay home until the kids are in school.

Big Hollywood : 'Blue Bloods' Review: Tom Selleck Returns In Solid New Police Drama

I noticed that too. I wasn't sure I saw it so I had to go back to the beginning and watch that scene again (I had it on DVR). Seems like a weird storyline, but I do like the rest of the show.

Big Government : Wait, Pay, Cough: FDA Seeks To Limit Consumer Access to Cough Medicine

I guess I should have been more clear. The checking of ID's for the spray paint, cough medicine and white out, is not actually recording my ID, they are just checking that I am over 18. They won't sell it to anyone under 18~the demographic that is abusing those things. I don't like my ID being recording at the pharmacy when I buy sinus meds. I'm not a criminal, I just want to freaking breathe through my nose! I don't mind showing an ID to prove an age, but I don't like it being recorded every time I buy cold meds. Sometimes one doesn't work and I can't buy another to try because it's "too soon" Very irritating.

I live in WI and I have to show ID when I buy cough medicine, white out and spray paint. It's quick to show ID and doesn't stop law abiding people from buying what they need. The doctors have enough really sick patients to see, making them see people with easily self-treated coughs is a stupid solution. I hate having to go through the pharmacist to buy sinus medicine. It makes me feel like a criminal. It will be really annoying to have to make a doctor appointment for a cough.

Big Hollywood : Film Review: Odd, Uneven 'Charlie St. Cloud' Misses the Mark

Zac Efron can really act. Forget the High School Musical movies, check out the movie "Miracle Run" where he plays an autistic boy. He is incredible.

Big Hollywood : Trace Adkins: Country Music Star, Oil Rig Worker Calls Oil Drilling Moratorium 'Idiotic'

I'm surprised and impressed that AC let Trace talk and didn't interrupt him when he was giving his opinion on the moratorium. Trace came off as intelligent and knowledgeable about the topic at hand. And, to be shallow, I could listen to Trace read the phone book!! LOL

Big Hollywood : True Colors: A Race Discussion With Isaiah Washington

My Great-Great Grandfather and my Great-Grandfather came to the U.S. from Poland in 1920. If I figure correctly, that's about 60 or so odd years after the Civil War. So, my family obviously didn't own any slaves (they were DIRT POOR when they came here, I guarantee you they didn't own slaves in Poland). So, does that exempt me from paying reparations or do I just have to do that because I'm white? Seriously, slavery was an awful, horrible, despicable part of our history. I wish it had never happened. No one deserves to be put into slavery. However, it is in the PAST. Why am I responsible for things that happened 150 years ago? Nobody alive today was a slave in the 1800's. Reparations do not extend to generations born 150 years after the crime was committed! I don't think we should forget that slavery happened in this country--we need to learn from our mistakes, but it IS time to stop pointing fingers at "victims" and "perpetrators" after all these years--none of US was personally involved after all.

Big Hollywood : 'American Idol' and Dumbing Down the Definition of Homophobe

The reason I think he didn't win, however, has nothing to do with homophobia. Danny Gokey's fan were more likely to prefer Kris Allen's style to Adam Lambert's. I'd say Kris won due to picking up the Gokey fans' votes. I agree with this statement. I said the same thing this morning. I don't even watch AI, but it's hard to not hear about it (esp. because I'm in WI~Gokey's home state)~Kris and Danny are both Music Ministers at their churches and had the same basic style of singing. Kris picked up Gokey's fanbase and that is what put him over the top.

I know it seems weird to the men, but women do notice these things. I mention it to my hubby all the time. All the women cops on the CSI type shows wear stiletto heals and run around chasing the bad guys in those. I'm sure all women cops dress like that! LOL
