Folks, don't believe what you read on Yahoo Answers and other websites. They are posted by fans - mere fans - and nobody else. They might even be knowing lesser about wrestling than you and I do, so just ignore them. Its all their wish and speculation which they post there like a "probability" or a "certainity" but it remains just a "possibility" and nothing more. A lot of wrestling websites themselves are often wrong, leave alone Yahoo answers. Trust the WWE to maintain some amount of suspense in events like the Rumble - I was very surprised about Cena's return last year and no wrestling website that I remember had predicted it. If anyone posts on those websites saying that their relatives or they themselves work in the WWE, you can tell them that Mayank Shridhar is the new backstage storyline writer for the WWE and he told you that they are lying ;-) of course, I wish I was a backstage storyline writer.... *wishful thinking* :-)

Ah, Taker won't retire at Wrestlemania 25 - otherwise he wouldn't have been building muscles like he did last year during his leave. He's got a good 2-3 years left in him, if not more.

I agree with you completely. Taker brought a lot more variety into the business also as he perfected the image definition of terror and the personification of dominance or destruction. His variation in characters (dead-man, ministry, bad-a**, etc and the way they maintained links between each other), the arsenal of wrestling moves he introduced to the WWE from the tombstone to the last ride to the gogoplata (Hell's Gate/ Death Valley Vice), etc are amazing. He has defined "Evolution" in its literal sense in the WWE. His level of fitness is just so great. The fact that he is still there and still there on top while so many other guys (who joined after him) are already retired speaks for it.

Kane might not win the Rumble because I think he is not Mania-level main-event material anymore. He was that good when he was the masked Kane. But now, he is becoming fat (notice his belly), slow and clumsy - that is the reason why he is a mid-carder and is losing matches to guys like Rey Mysterio. I don't think Kane can put up a main-event match on Mania like Taker or the other main-eventers can. I am a Kane fan myself and hate to see him losing to these guys but I can't help it if he is not at his athletic best at this age.

Taker is not in the hall of fame because he is still wrestling and is not close to his retirement. Austin enters the hall of fame because he has retired. The only person who entered the Hall of Fame while being an active wrestler was Ric Flair, and we very well knew that was because he was going to retire the next day at Mania aganist Shawn. Since the event is in Texas this time, it might make sense to induct Austin into it.

The comment size is really restricted - I just posted a comment at the bottom of a page with 2 paragraphs and it said it won't allow me to post such a long comment. It was 1/4th the size of the comments I was used to posting earlier ;-) and the error message which came was displayed way up in the page (I had to scroll up to see it) instead of being displayed where I was posting it so I couldn't even see it in the first 2 attempts. Well anyway, if the reason is that the plugin is cheaper then I guess I can't say much but have to be happy with it :-) As for the

comments we had earlier - isn't there a way to make them adapt to this, like replace it by the text "Ed said" or "Andres said" or something like that by checking from the back-end and replacing it? I guess it will need some programming though. Have the old comments been transferred BTW?

Kingpin - your idea of You-Mangah eliminating Taker also sounds good because You-Mangah is due for return and might show up at the Rumble but I sincerely hope that feud gets delayed till beyond Mania. I hope that the only one who eliminates Taker from the Rumble this time would be Shawn Michaels through a cheap shot (upon instructions from JBL, as he is not in the Rumble match otherwise) and then reignite the 12 year old rivalry to finish it at Mania with Taker going 17-0. If Taker gets into a rivalry with You-Mangah, it will be too short if it has to end at Mania. Taker's rivalries are usually longer as he sells the opponents and lets them win some matches. The rivalry with Michaels need not be long as Michaels does not need any selling and it will be only refuelling of an old rivalry, the sparks of which we saw in the 2007 and 2008 Rumble matches too.

takerrocks1990 - just because somebody said that they don't see Taker winning the Rumble, it does not mean that they are not true Taker fans. We all want Taker to win everything but we very well damn know that it won't happen that way otherwise the WWE will never be able to create rivalries and story-lines. I want Taker to win too, but I think that he will not win it because unfortunately the WWE don't want him to win it - and that does not mean that I am not a Taker fan by heart and soul (which I can bet that I am as much as anyone on this website if not more). We are just trying to think what could happen in real considering the way the WWE is going these days (where even Vickie slaps Taker and Big SLow knocks him out with one punch).

Ok. As for the point about whether admins should be allowed to edit comments, I am of the opinion that is how it should be. Maybe we shouldn't lose functionality, though I am not a decision maker. But I do think that it is a way to keep the site clean - if you can bring up the point with them, please do so. Admins are meant to control what goes on the site and a lot of times people post certain words which are offensive (could be unintentional) and then their comments need a bit of editing.

HBK is not in the Rumble match this time. He will be in JBL's corner during his match with Cena. But I do expect HBK to interfere in the Rumble match for a cheap-shot or two based on JBL's instruction.

True, those who give promos never win. The best Rumble preview was in 2007 - the whole set up was so perfect. A preview to the Rumble match on Smackdown the week before the Rumble.... 6 guys come in, Kane gets eliminated first because he is Taker's brother and at that time he was "face" and in alliance with Taker (so they didn't want to make Taker fight him).... and tehn Taker comes in out of nowhere and eliminates everyone. JBL says to Michael Cole "you said this was gonna be a preview to the Rumble, well that is what we are seeing". And then Taker won the Rumble. That was the best promo (preview rather, as it had action). Won't see it happening this time. I think Orton might win this time - he won the preview match on Raw too ;-)

Yes, they can just create a new designation called "Minister of Darkness" and that position would automatically goto Taker. His duty would be to wipe out all evil, though he would be evil himself ;-)

I don't think that Christian would win the Rumble as it would be unfair on the current main-eventers - he cannot just make a return and immediately get a title match, that too at a Wrestlemania. WWE need to see how well he gels with the crowd and other wrestlers in this stint, before they decide to make him championship material. I think Jeff Hardy vs Orton will be a match, with Orton being the Rumble winner. Otherwise it could be that Edge wins the title from Hardy and then you have Orton vs Edge with supposedly Orton turning face against his earlier Rated RKO partner.

Well, when Taker did a full match against Shelton, it moved him up by 1 spot I guess but when he just did a promo that had a choke-slam then it moved him up by 2. And I guess this promo helped him move up too, better than the match. I guess that by end of this week (just before the Rumble) he will be ranked in the top 3 as he beat Shelton again. And the WWE are really advertising his chances of winning the Rumble quite a lot. JR also said "is there a bigger favourite for winning the Rumble?". Taker has also been doing verbal promos on it. Makes me feel that he will have an impact on it but might not win it. Maybe he will be in the last 2 and then will get eliminated by a cheap shot or cheating.

Agreed that the camera should have been focussed on Taker all the while. As for the words he used, I thought the words he used for his promo last year were better suited for a "Rumble" match - If you stand before, you will fall before me". That was cool.

I agree with some people here that they should use a better photo for Taker. He doesn't look that "seriously" scary in it. They should use the one they made for the Backlash 2008 poster - that was really scary.

Its part of WWE's new policies of putting legends in insulting storylines. Like Taker got his title stripped, then banished and even got slapped from Vickie. And now Shawn is owned by JBL. I hope it results in something innovative later, though.
