Herd immunity is not going to work against this virus because it mutates too often, just like the cold virus. Same reason vaccines will only work for a time. Like an annual flu shot, it will need to be figured out in advance and offered annually.

That doesn’t answer the question. Why didn’t the Russians find any poisons? I’m sure they were anxious to not have a repeat of past accusations at a time when the US and UK are doing everything they can to stop Nordsteam2. Your theory makes it seems like Russian science and medicine is stuck in the 18th century.
