Collider : Everything's Bigger in TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, Including Racism

You don't really understand anthropomorphization, do you. It's okay, it's a big word. It means that you put uniquely human characteristics on a non-human creatures. And I actually love Michael Bay movies (except for "The Island" and "Pearl Harbor" which require subtlety and that's just not in his wheelhouse), but this isn't a stretch to see a racial stereotype here. Oh, and no one's trying to drive down the box office of the film. Why would critics even care about that?

Collider : Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins Head to JOHN CARTER OF MARS

No, it's live-action and it's from Disney. It's just that Stanton is from Pixar and this is his first live-action movie.

I was just trying to do you a favor. After all, we once reported on a story about piracy and thus promoted piracy. Would hate for you to be linked to by scoundrels like us.

So let me see if I get this straight: the sequel is about how the helpless girl goes from being protected by a vampire to being protected by a werewolf? Is "Eclipse" about her being protected by zombies? Frankenstein monster? Baba Yaga?

/Film : Terminator Salvation: 30+ Minutes of Deleted Scenes, Alternative Ending, 59 New Photos

That other ending doesn't even make sense. If Terminator-Connor killed Kyle Reese, then how could Kyle Reese go back and ensure that John Connor is born in the first place? I actually think it's a cool idea to have the leader of the resistance end up being a terminator but I don't see why he has to kill all the other main characters.

/Film : Expect Star Trek Reviews on April 7th and A Rant on the Future of Film Criticism

First off, I really dug this article, Pete. I've definitely been thinking along similar lines in past months. At the end of the day, I can't write film reviews because I think they will draw the most traffic or give me the most followers or make me a name. I write reviews for the same reason I would hope that most people write reviews: because they love movies, they think about movies, and they want to share their thoughts about movies with other film lovers. I'd write reviews about movies even if no one read them (and I have). And I wish everyone who wrote about movies would write reviews because it would force them to eventually look at future news and cinema history in a more analytical context and not simply in a temporal context of "who's hot and who's not" and what film will dominate at the box office. And while reviews will probably never be a big traffic draw at Collider or any site (barring those exceptions you mention), I feel they're important because they let you know where a writer stands and it lets us, as writers, follow a film to its end, from the day it debuts in variety to the end where it hits screens and we can see the final product. To just comment on what it could be and not seeing what it was seems like only have the job. But again, I really dug this article and the ideas presented.
