The true intention here is not to fight against climate change... lets be clear, its for increased taxing, larger government, and in-turn a more powerful central government. In the 1970's there was a global cooling scare, 2000 - now, global warming/climate change scare which the "experts" claim they have 200 years of "evidence" to back up their findings... well did they just forget about the "evidence" for the "global cooling" under convenience, or was it a lie, and if it was, how can we believe the "experts" that "global warming" is real? Or is it all not just an attempt at establishing complete government dominance in the energy industry much like they want to do with health care, and are doing in the banking and auto industries. Make no mistake in realizing the true intentions of those in capital hill and in the white house, they have little regard for the environment, and much less regard for the nations economy i.e. our well being, and this bill is a perfect example, in the middle of a recession/depression, the genius's in congress decide to create a massive tax on the citizens that will severely damage our nations economic prosperity and most likely send us into a second depression within a depression. Common sense should tell us all and show us all that this bill, and those in Washington that support this bill are a sham... Lets hope the bill doesn't pass the senate. I was told recently that "Debt is the weapon used to conquer and enslave societies and interest is its driving force." well everybody, that is what our government is doing right now with the auto, bank, healthcare, and housing industries, not to mention all the social programs implemented already, Social security, medical, medicaid...etc etc. A blank check of bailout money which is really just a tool for BO to become the next CEO of these big corporations (he already fired GM's president, forced crysler to merge with fiat, didnt accept gm's restructuring plan, now the banks are going to be controlled by regulators in washington with giethner's over-sight) because BO wont even let the stable companies pay back the bailout money they have received. All this is driving smaller companies out of business, keeping the big ones in business through bailouts (which is essentially the U.S. government buying them) and then my friends... we have the most ingenius plan of socialism ever executed in the history of the world in the United States with BO the CEO of every large corporation. A country in which socialism is UNCONSTITUTIONAL! If one can show me the article or amendment that the government or the President is granted power to fire/hire private company's executives, bailout companies, force companies to merge, complete oversight of an industry, then i will eat the paper whole. It's not there, yet liberal agenda is far too important to them than the constitution is. Domination and despotism exists because of the indifference that ordinary people have towards liberty, and the division of political power in which all society is connected. We are always locked inside the same system, it matters not whether it grants us freedom or takes it away. It is this that manages to keep the status quo of bad leaders continuing to dismally decline, and of citizens continuing to suffer under subjection and tyranny. They claim they want health care for all because every person deserves health care, which is right in some aspects. America was built on opportunity. Our GDP last year was around 13 trillion dollars. That means that it would take roughly 4 years to pay off just medical and medicaid programs if the government did not spend money on any other service, and obviously that is not feasable. Then you add all the other social programs like social security which is bankrupt as it is, corporate bailouts, and now universal healthcare, and the ever expending budget of the federal government... and you have added up trillions and trillions in debt. Well my friends... money doesn't grow off trees, and printing one trillion dollars like the fed did earlier this year leads to hyper inflation... The debate isn't whether it is right or humane or just to implement universal healthcare(regardless of its nightmarish inefficiency), it is whether or not we as americans can afford it... and frankly liberals don't want to engage in that debate because they WILL lose.
