Many thanks for posting this tip. Does the combination still work with Firefox 3.6? I don’t mind disabling other add-ons temporarily, but losing Blog This in Windows Live Writer would be a deal-breaker for me!

A couple of additional thoughts regarding the Universal electrical plug idea: -The Universal electrical plug standard should be drawn up by the IEEE, i.e. it should be an official IEEE standard. -The plugs must provide a proper mechanical or physical connection, to ensure that there's a proper electrical connection. That's one of the problems I've observed with 2-pin plugs in SA (particularly with devices such as power supplies or chargers with integrated plugs, where the weight of the device interferes with a proper connection).

Thanks for stopping by, but I’m afraid your comment doesn’t make much sense. As for BEE, I saw it in action up close at my previous employer (one of the big four banks in SA), and what I saw of “Black Elite Enrichment” (at the expense of customers, shareholders and staff) disgusted me.

Thanks Joel. I wasn’t sure whether to bring the Rosa Parks parallel in or not. Looks as if I should have. If we’re to have a state for all Jews, one segment cannot claim the public space as their own and impose a narrow (and relatively “modern”) view of morality on the rest.

What I am hoping for is that if enough respectable citizens complain to the “responsible authorities”, “something will be done about it”. I know they have the wherewithal to deal with the hooligans; they just lack the political will.

I second Glenn Hiltons suggestion. There are other URL shorteners that go part of the way in providing a social media bar, but none that do a complete job. The ones I can think of are BurnURL, Go2.me, ow.ly (Hootsuite). Glenn, please let your Twitter subscribers know if you come across anything that fits the bill.
