It was a light hearted remark, meant in jest, which obviously passed you by!

Unfortunately Government do just seem to continually set themselves up for criticism! Although to be fair it'll be the NHS who ultimately cock it all up... I can see it coming and the opposition just sitting waiting to blame it all on Boris.
But I would like to know why we don't have enough to go around... why it wasn't manufactured as stated last year.

Which of those 4 hotspots do you live in?! Have you a vested interest?! 😉

I was under the impression the vaccine manufacture was under way even before it was approved? I'm sure I read somewhere that Astrazeneca were willing to take the risk as they were so confident it would work... that was months ago.

Exactly. What has happened to the vaccines that were supposedly being produced by Astrazeneca prior to approval. Didn't the Government bung them a load of money?

See my post below with a link to Astrazeneca statement.

Can anyone tell me where the millions of doses that were to be supplied to the Government by last September have gone? Supposedly production was being ramped up before the vaccine was given approval so that when it was approved there would be a plentiful supply.

I reefer to a statement put out by Astrazeneca last May:

'The Company has concluded the first agreements for at least 400 million doses and has secured total manufacturing capacity for one billion doses so far and will begin first deliveries in September 2020. AstraZeneca aims to conclude further agreements supported by several parallel supply chains, which will expand capacity further over the next months to ensure the delivery of a globally accessible vaccine.........

......AstraZeneca recently joined forces with the UK Government to support Oxford University’s vaccine and has progressed rapidly in its efforts to expand access around the world. The Company will supply the UK starting in September and is thankful for the Government’s commitment and overall work on vaccines'.

Yours is a prime example of why the country is so divided. The constant belittling of anyone with an alternative view to your goodself is apparently OK. Well it isn't.

Happy New Year to you too.

Fabulous news! Congratulations Sir Geoffrey! What a wonderful reward for such a wonderful character. He often brightened many a Brexit voters day during those incredibly miserable Mrs May years!
