That aren’t the enemy, they are the largest market for our goods and services. That is why we want and need a trade deal.

No country on earth is “totally in charge of its own affairs” as you put it. Even after Brexit, we aren’t, we are bound by hundreds if not thousands of international treaties. For example, NATO, or are you suggesting we abandon that as well? If so I will have to assume that you are posting from the basement of the Internet research institute in St Petersburg, and are not a patriotic Englishman but a ghastly little troll.

But we did sign it, Johnson signed it, so the logical conclusion or what you propound is that we should not break international law. If he made an error and cannot live with the consequences of that error then he should go, and another should replace him. That would seem a good solution, we might even get a PM who was able to sort this blasted pandemic out.

No the reason cv19 is worse is that’s unlike flu, we have never been exposed to it before and thus have no immunity. Rather like the people’s of the Americas when Europeans first colonised the continents taking smallpox and other diseases with them.

We’d have had capacity if we’d closed the airports as other countries did.

“Someone with expertise” would presumably be a senior civil servant? The type Cummins wants rid if so badly?

But he could have continued with track and trace to. The two are not mutually exclusive.

That simply is not knowable, epistemologically speaking.

Actually it is a recycling of something from Dominic Cummins' blog. The use of regional hubs of transformational research hubs will be coming .We do have a Defence imperative, having just blown billions on two useless aircraft carriers we can't afford, not even the escort ships for. in 1946 it was a godforsaken sand pit .Look at the relative growth rates not the current per capita GDP for the real story
