I'm not sure I would call that a shove. Anyway, "debates" like these are typical in our fast food type of talk shows. Neither of these guys were cordial to each other. Neither showed himself to be a gentleman, but both kept egging the other on. Hugh should have just let Caddell talk and calmly took his assertions apart therefore showing the strength of his position.

It seems that you've made much out of little. You're whole approach boils down to - Well, why did he say that? And I think this can be seen in your question - And I deem that article “curious” because it largely escapes me how this calls for an internal reflection by Christians. I could say the same of your response by stating - it largely escapes me how Ryft's article that deems mine as an unnecessary internal Christian reflection is, then, itself necessary. In my "no way" comment I said it may not have been the best reaction which leaves open the possibility that it may have been just fine. I did not make a biblical or spiritual reason. I made a passing comment. Yet all you do is ask "why" without offering your own position grounded in Scripture. I don't know any Christian who totally divorces politics from their spirituality. This is a political issue, but it not just a political issue since it deal with religion. I thought I summed everything up in my last paragraph. If you want to make it solely a political issue then we disagree. And it the law lets the Mosque be built, however distasteful it is, then up it goes. Maybe Romans 13 is inherent in this discussion on, but I've not see it brought up.
