Are You Screening? : 9 - Movie Review

You seem to mention Wall E at me an awful lot... just noting. I think back past Wall E to Cars, which I think did a more interesting job, and was wicked fun, but I didn't really hate Wall E or anything. The thing about Pixar is that the overall creative team is just genius. In this case, we have a guy who basically made a student film that got noticed by Tim Burton, so he rockets to getting a feature expansion, but gets saddled with a very average screenwriter. What's he going to do really? But, I'm hopeful for future things from him.

Are You Screening? : Funny People - Movie Review

Sorry, I never mentioned any pockets, and really, in order to be controversial I would have to greatly dislike something that was generally well regarded... and, well... not so much here. Unfortunately, this site can't have another movie reviewer, but thanks for your time.

Are You Screening? : Jon & Kate Plus 8 - Series Premiere Pulls In Viewers - Hooray America

I have to say that I'm frankly not sure what point you're making. To start, you seem to be working from a theory wherein I somehow support this show... which is strange. Second, if the show is not airing in the UK, it doesn't equate with the idea of the show being canceled. It doesn't stop the show for it to not be on there. Third, you seem to have the idea that the show is exploitational to the children even in theory, in which case, if it was pulled for the kid's sake, how did it get on in the first place?

Thanks for all the comments. In answer to your question, yes, kind of, I guess. There are pauses between whatever the routine is, you might have something like, get the resistance band pause and whatever, but basically yes, you just go straight to the next thing.

Well, I tried the email reply commenting, and that doesn't seem to have worked, so I hope this doesn't pop up again. Thanks a lot for the comment. I know how it is with only so much jogging year available (not that I jog), and this is really a great idea to add in. Now that I'm playing around with it home, the balance board additions are pretty cool as well, so if you have the balance board already, it's just that much more. For everyone who has commented, and is hopefully following comments (and hopefully that works with the comment system change), I'll be giving away a copy in the next day or two, so stay tuned to the site for a new article and the chance to win.

I think at some point this is just getting sort of silly, and a lot of people who don't like the film are ultimately resorting to "I don't like the film, because I don't like the film." And, "the evidence for it being a poor film is the fact that I don't like it." This kind of sums things up here - "Snyder may have adapted the comic to the screen really well, but that doesn't change the fact that it wasn't a very good film." I think when it comes down to it, that's exactly what a lot of people here and elsewhere are actually disagreeing about. I think a lot of people are going to say, well, umm, actually it does kind of determine whether or not its a good film. Specifically because, if you think the movie adapts the book really well, and nevertheless insist that it isn't "good," you're problem is really with the book and not the film. The question, I think, that a lot of the commenters here are going back and forth with ultimately leads to "can you adapt a book perfectly to film, and still have made a bad movie?" On another note, the number of people who have mentioned pacing here is not only surprising, but another point from the same argument. The movie has the book's pacing, generally, and "pacing" has long been the throwout of people who can't ferret out any other negative to attach to a film they don't like. The pacing is slow, that doesn't mean it's bad, and like I said, it's the pacing the book has. It's again, do you hold the film responsible for the faults (if they are) of the material it is adapting? Finally, the story actually is quite deep, I encourage you to read my review... but again, if the story is putting out depth it doesn't really have, it's a problem of the book, not the film.

I think you're just in the same boat there as the original statement. I've asked average moviegoers, and I haven't run into anything remotely in the realm of "worst in recent memory." Is it not really great response? Maybe. Worse, to say that 40,000 votes on IMDb is, well those are the movie geeks is pushing a point a little far. The movie at its best is not going to be for everyone, but worst in recent memory is laughable.

/Film : LOL: Trekkie Angered at New Star Trek Movie's Inaccurate Representation of Futuristic San Franc

First of all, even though some people have mentioned the scale issue here... can we say exaggeration? 100 times the size of buildings now? Just because overexaggeration, put forward seriously, really irritates me, I need to comment on that. Let's not even take San Francisco's tallest buildings, but just a 400 ft building, of which there are about 40. There are plenty of taller buildings of course. 100 times the size of these mid-tall buildings is 40,000 ft, or 7.5 miles tall! The world's tallest building now is something like 2700 ft, I think. At 7 miles tall, you're entering the stratosphere. I don't think those buildings look quite that tall. Second, try to babble about something more meaningless in your youtube video. But, I guess "this is really cool" gets you about the same number of hits as "look at this dumbass"

I'm a bit curious what you mean by "word-of-mouth has been more negative than for any movie in recent memory." You've got to mean something a bit removed from the straight meaning of that statement, because the blatant untruth of it would be laughable at best. Even only in recent months, nevermind memory, I can think of several movies that I cannot recall anyone saying anything positive about at all. Without some kind of clarification, it seems a bit "journalistically" obtuse to throw out such a statement which at its heart has no real basis at all. Which word of mouth? I suppose you could always throw out a quick, "well, of the people I heard talking about it," defense, but what does your putting forward such a statement in the first place hope to mean?
