Actually, yeah, why wasn't the army mobilized? Or were they?

Considering our country is mostly peaceful, our army could be separately trained in disaster relief. Their discipline and numbers would really do wonders during a disaster.

APCs would just roll over the metre high water like it was nothing.

watching on fb (which i hope they weren't doing all the time) and being there in person are two different things.

Point is they were there. Were you?

Well, secret society or not, these chaps are not making a nuisance of themselves. That's all I know. Why don't you round up all those hundreds of Mat Rempits who love to rouse up the neighborhood every weekend night or so.?

I don't see what's all the fanfare about. So he's Chinese. So what?

Is he capable for that job? Is he ethical? Can he handle the stress and responsibility? Can he be fair to his charges and constituents? This should be the criteria in selecting a leader.

EVERYWHERE.

There's another side to this as well.

It's about the license for street hawkers. Certain local hawkers who does not want to continue their trade anymore, would probably 'sell' their license to these foreigners, maybe throw in the recipes as well. I won't be surprised to find people lending their names to licenses and rent them out to foreigners. This from the point of law, is illegal. You might think it's not a very smart law, but it's still law.

Certain segments of Muslims insist on calling a convert a Mualaf....even if he has been a practicing Muslim for years...why is that? Is there such a category as, non-muslim, mualaf then Muslim?

I find anyone who could justify the extermination of a race in sore need of being exterminated themselves. Jew or not.

Women having periods is the sacrifice they bear for having the gift of procreation. Its high time we move from the mindset that periods make a woman impure, dirty, incapable bla bla bla.

That is the product of a barbaric and backwards mindset. Why do scumbags like you always look at women as inherently inferior to men? Why do you expect women must ask your leave before speaking their thoughts? Why did you ever think that a woman can't do a better job at being an MB? It's because your lot are one great bigoted train wreck. You think you are saying all that just to protect women and their purity?? In fact you're just afraid that they can be better than you.

You're racist, sexist, religiously a hypocrite and downright scumbags who dirty this world with every word you speak and every step you take.

Brings back memories of my time in Uni more than a decade ago. My lecturer actually gave me an F for a dissertation. His argument? 'It's impossible for a Uni student to write this level of English'. Apparently he thinks I plagiarized a big portion of my paper as the English used was in his words 'too complex and too well written' for a local Uni level student.

I showed him by summarizing up what I wrote, and adding new content to my summary in equally 'high quality' English. Finally convinced, but wanting to save his face, he gave me an A-, saying 'I give you the benefit of the doubt'.

That being said, if at that time the local lecturers already have such a poor view of students' grasp of English, I wonder how much worse it got today.
