Not MUCH more than a drunk behind the wheel, like you said. I think CRJ2's point was to bring up the fact that this will be difficult to enforce. Of course if someone CAUSES an accident, cell phone records will be used to prosecute. But like CRJ2 said, it isn't going to stop SOME people from doing it. And I don't think people are going to be punished any harsher for texting as opposed to drunk driving. All of this being said, I think this law would be a good one and I hope it passes. It would definitely ensure that I would stop (very very occasionally) doing it. Yes, I am a human and I have made poor decisions, so please keep the tongue lashings to a minimum. :) And hopefully it will stop other people from doing it too.
