I experienced a lot of similar things...especially the ever-changing "friends" that most girls have throughout middle school and early high school.

I left for college, and like you, never looked back. Like Christy said, now being a high school teacher (teachers were always my inspiration...I may be back at the "scene of the crime," but now I can do something about it!) I see those kids that are great people, funny, smart, all of the qualities that adults look for in their friends that teenagers can be quick to brush aside, and I think, "you just need to get away from the role that you've been given by your peers." I can't wait to hear how they are doing off at college.

I thank God every day that I'm not growing up now. I don't know if I could handle the added pressure of texting, facebook, etc. I worry for my daughter every day. I know that it's going to be very difficult for me to not want to throat punch the kids who make her cry, but I also know that I will teach her the way to treat people and to not be a d-bag. In the end, she will be a stronger person.

Wow...that was a lot more than I intended to write....great post!!!

That's really interesting about the difference in the numbers. I never thought of it that way.

I was one of 4 Nicoles in my class. I had to be called Nikki Ka., because there was another Nikki K. So, I wanted something unique (not strange, just not super common). We had a lot more problems agreeing on boy names than girls. Thank we found a family (Genevieve) name that we could both agree on!

I missed your big announcement until I was reading this post and saw you mention Aurelia!! Congrats on the new baby girl!!

Oh, and I never minded onesies. We actually put them under Evie's clothes all winter (even though she was 18 months old) to keep her warmer. I never really thought about the head/neck thing...maybe I'm just brainwashed that these are what babies wear. lol! :)

Yay for gardens!! This will be our third year planting. In WI we'll have to wait a couple more weeks to plant, :( but we plan on putting in tomatoes, lettuce, spinach (that's a new one for us this year), cucumbers, and pumpkins. In the past we've completely failed with carrots and watermelon. Good luck!!

I am a barbecue sauce FANATIC! I wasn't sure what Evie would think of it, but I put a dab on some grilled chicken the other night, and she devoured it. She actually started dipping her hand in the sauce and eating it plain! However, I also love broccoli, and she refuses to give that a try.

I'm sure that as Carina will appreciate chocolate cake much more as she gets older! :)

Luke is such a classic name and I LOVE the name Aurelia!!! It's so elegant! They both go well with Carina, too.

But I think you're having a Luke! ;)

My daughter does this all the time too! I found a marker inside of the fridge...I opened the cupboard door to find a stuffed animal looking back at me. I think it's hilarious, and so cute!! Fortunately, she hasn't hidden anything too important...yet.
