Sounds like there will be a further charge of 6% GST on top of this increased price come next month? This is really too much for a smartphone (even though i'm a Apple fan!).

My mum who’s using TalkMore 28 with no data package received the SMS about this promo yesterday.
She uses Whatsapp quite frequently but only when there’s wifi connection. Did not sign up for data package because it’s expensive.

This new promo looks affordable and suits my mum’s occasional need for data when there's no wifi. Just need to pay RM18 for a month to get 200MB and Unlimited whatsapp. (not sure if there’s a catch?!)

Since it's only RM18, I’ve helped her to subscribe to it by dialing the code in the SMS *100*2*4*1#

I’ll update this post after I receive her bill to see if she’s being charged for video/photos sent through whatsapp. Fingers crossed.

Opps, saw the wrong rate. Should be 10 sen per minute? My bad. I guess normal consumer like me will comprehend per minute rate better instead of 30 seconds. :)

25 days x 10 sen x 15 mins = RM67.50
My bill will end up to be RM70 + RM37.50 = RM107.50

Not too bad but not good enough. Can't say that the plan is cheaper as any extra offnet minutes will still be charged on top of the monthly fee. I've better stick to my maxis unlimited call & text plan. Worry free.

Just my 2 cents worth. P70 might probably work better if it's a tablet plan, especially when it offers 4.5GB data. Don't think i want to pay any extra for voice and SMS anymore, be it on net or off net, especially when porting in and out from telcos is so common that I don't even know who in my list is on what operator anymore.

Frankly speaking, i have very few friends who are subscribers of U Mobile, and the rests are on either Maxis or Digi. Hence, offnet minutes are extremely important to me. For P70, with only 70 minutes allocated to off-net calls is really a turn-off to me. With an average off-net call of 15 minutes/day (i have a habit of making calls whilst driving), the 70 minutes can easily be used within 5 days. That said, i have 25 days more to go before i can get the 70 minutes again. Doing the math:

25 days x 18 sen x 15 mins = RM67.50

Wooah, looks like my bill will end up to be RM70 + RM67.50 = RM137.50 !!!

I guess, this plan will only be suitable for people who have many friends who are on U Mobile? Even then, please limit your call to 30 minutes a day to your friends on U Mobile as you'll be charged 18 sen/minute for the EXTRA minutes! CLEVER indeed!

I am still using their UM28 as second line whilst using Maxis One Plan as my primary line. No plan to convert to P70 as I'm enjoying Maxis One Plan's unlimited calls so far. :)

From your post, seems like I might loss my off-net minutes allocation if i were to accidentally called someone that is using U Mobile. Does it mean that I have to PLAN MY CALL to use the 70 off-net minutes at the beginning of my bill cycle? OMG. So much for the "flexibility"?

How about sharing of voice? How does it work? Is there a pool of voice minutes that the principal and the "member line" can share?
