It is undermining the ability of businesses to be successful. The irony is that these policies crush the small to mid-sized business which try to grow by traditional means. Large corporations can work the books and move monies around in order to grab profits. Regional businesses don’t have these options and so they have to pay Uncle Sam the Tax Collector. It is much easier to control and manipulate people employed at a few major corporations than it is to keep hundreds of thousands of small businesses under ones thumb.
