I tried to start TU yesterday (on Mac 10.6.8) but it just sat there with a blank GUI after "Reticulating splines"....and the weird thing is that I used it just the day before with no problems at all! So I upgraded to v5.00.02 and it's still just sitting there with a blank window...no text or anything. I'm on Mac and have to keep Force-quitting the app. Perhaps the iPad 2 JB is overloading servers or something?? Anyone else having problems with TU just sitting there doing nothing?

EDIT: Just checked Console and there are errors when TU is launched.

Yes, you can still jailbreak it tethered. I have a JB tethered iPhone 4 on 4.2.1 and it works brilliantly. Of course, if I have to reboot without a computer handy then I lose the JB stuff, but at least I can still use the phone until I get the opportunity to reboot with Redsn0w.

Yes, you can jailbreak your iPhone 4 on 4.2.1 without SHSH but it will be tethered. I recommend that you download redsn0w 0.9.6b4 to do this. As yet, there is no untethered JB for iPhone 4 on 4.2.1 UNLESS you already have SHSH blobs. I also recommend that you download TinyUmbrella to save your current 4.2.1 SHSH blobs for future use. If you don't know what to do, go to iClarified and find the relevant tutorial.

Guys, some advice please. I have a jailbroken Apple store-unlocked 3GS with a 3.0 ECID on Cydia. However, I had some problems with the phone & took it to an Apple store where they put on 3.1 without my knowledge. I downgraded back to 3.0 and re-jailbroke it as soon as I got home using Saurik's Cydia/iTunes method....but with that method the iPhone restore fails a couple of times and has to be manually kicked out of restore mode.

Because I bought an unlocked iPhone from Apple (in Aus) I don't need to worry about baseband updates but can anyone let me know if I might encounter problems when upgrading to JB'd 3.1 using the new version of Pwnage tool (because of my previous 3.1 upgrade/downgrade situation)? I don't think so but want to check.
