He doesn't seem to be too demanding in his selection of scripts, and he works in semi-low budget features. Marvel was going to make him an integral part of a lucrative franchise and couldn't come up with a price. After hearing the 250k they offered Rourke, I figure they offered SJ something similar, obviously scaled to the amount of work he'd have to do though. Looks like Marvel wants to do a "summer stock" theatre version of Iron Man 2. Granted I'll still pony up the $10 to check it out but still... They only made noise when they saw it has the potential to be a blockbuster. Execs at Fox can't play dumb and say they had no idea it was in development at WB until the release became iminent. WB should fight it on principle, but due to my entirely selfish motives, I think they should just offer Fox a cut of take for better or worse.
