Breitbart.com : \'Anti-Christ\' gets \'anti-prize\' at Cannes

Have no idea what this movie was about or what the politics behind it is, but female genital mutilation occurs daily in African and Muslim countries without reaction from the civilized world. Little girls have their clitorises "surgically" removed by similarly gruesome methods with rusty scissors, broken glass, razors, or whatever is handy to ensure the female never enjoys sex, theoretically reducing the urge to stray from their future abusive husbands. It is disgusting and deserves a greater reaction from the global community for the misogynistic savagery that it is.

I swear I just felt an earthquake in Eugene, Oregon. I was napping, woke up and watched the clasp on an old trunk shake slightly. I thought to check the internet to see if one had hit here and I saw this. Is it possible to feel this quake so far north, or is it just a weird coincidence?

Interesting generalization to assume that anyone with light skin "mistreated an entire race of people". What I would ask is just how many generations removed from the slave traders does one need to be in order to no longer be guilty of the sins of one's fathers? What of the "whites" like my family who came to America long after slavery was abolished, who had, indeed, never even seen a black person in Ireland prior to landing in Boston and had, themselves, been oppressed by English landholders? Is the fact that many, many Americans today have no slave holding ancestors in their family tree too difficult to grasp while maintaining an affectation of victimhood? What of the new generation of "whites" who have grown up since the '70s and been taught nothing but MLK's wisdom; grown up longing to live in Cliff Huxtable's ideal home; listened to Whitney Houston deliver the finest rendition of OUR National Anthem; grown up singing to Prince, Michael Jackson, Beoncé; idolizing Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, to name only a few? What about the pride "whites" feel when Collin Powell addresses an international community, is that to be discounted? Or the fact that today's generation have grown up seeing black astronauts, black newscasters, black spokespersons who warn us of earthquakes and storms, black juggernauts like Oprah rise to positions of incredible sway, or simply think nothing of the fact that major cabinet positions and senatorial seats are routinely held by black persons? And don't let me remind you that OUR current President is black... he certainly was not elected by the sole effort of the black American voting base. Today's generations have been raised in a Star Trek climate - to judge on ability, not skin tone - and that is how it should be. Atlanta CNN broadcasts sicken me because every one of their stories is race related and bent on perpetuating the myth of continued American bigotry and apparently Atlanta residents take to this inflammatory format like moths to a flame. Take a step back - and look at how far our country has come from its inception - from inheriting an active slave trade from the Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and English colonists, to then going to war over a cause that might well have broken our fledgling nation's economic back by upsetting a tobacco and plantation industry run by the already present slave based economy. If you look at who actually imported the African slaves - look to Portugal, Spain, the Dutch and the English. In terms of actual numbers, the United States of America only imported (much to our shame) only 5% of the cargo slaves. If you can't see that the US has a decent sense of righteousness on this matter, you need to turn off Atlanta CNN and get stuffed.

I think you are missing the point. I don't care what color skin a store owner has. I f I did, it would be racist by definition. The Andersons are fixated on the melanin content of a business owner's skin. That is racism. Your last paragraph is ripe with learned victimhood and stereotype. Get over it and learn a new mantra or at least call the kettle black, as you put it: Blacks don't deserve equal rights, they deserve special rights - at least according to the "national narrative". This is, of course, poppycock. Blacks who succeed and thrive rarely thump their chests and proclaim their blackness. They more often then not work hard, send their children to private schools, insist on education, abide by the law, are friends with anyone regardless of their skin type (that's just good business) and go on to move to the suburbs and flourish. They succeed because they refuse to think of themselves as victims or outsiders or others.

That's it. From now on, I'm only going to patronize Scottish-American owned business. No more buying my haggis and kilts from a black owned store!

OMG. You can't make this up. What a "black business" means: Booze. Grits. Catfish and greens, preferably fried. Skank ghetto shoes. Baby and toddler mis-education. What they list as their favorite finds: Heritage Wines Farmers Best Market (OK, that one is not so funny) owned by a Karriem Beyah - is there a Muslim owned trend here? Alter EatGo - featuring Eric Paul, who sounds great, actually. According to the website: He is truly a renaissance man. Eric Paul has been a Russian linguist, web developer, Software Salesman, Restaurant Operations Consultant, Business Development Director, and entrepreneur. In addition to starting Alter EatGo, he created a social activities club called Eventurous that encourages Chicagoans to experience fine dining, performing arts, and various cultural activities. He truly believes in sharing his passion with others. (His website features pictures of white and Asian women, but he "is committed to become the leading provider of healthy, ready-to-eat meal options for at risk populations" Whatever at-risk means.) Quench - Friday night in the Anderson household means Quench. I cannot live without the Jive Turkey Burger, but John floats among the Jerk Chicken, the Chicken Gyro, and the Fried Catfish. (What about the Jive Turkey Collard greens and grit with a grape soda chaser?) Sensual Steps - Ghetto shoes – a shoe store in the heart of the Southside of Chicago which also serves as a day spa and overall "sisterhood" retreat. Jordan's Closets, Jordan's Mom's Closets - The clothes are wonderful and fashion forward. The "Recession" pricing makes the boutique a rare gem. Is that the Obama Recession Pricing you are talking about? BJ's Market & Bakery - Soul Food - Yummy! When we don't have time to cook, we stop at BJ's to pick up home cooked meals at great prices. I enjoy the variety of BJ's menu however, my favorite dish is the mustard-fried catfish with greens and macaroni and cheese. (Catfish and greens again. They don't have time to cook with all the melanin checking they have to do.) Park 52 - Expensive grits restaurant - The owner, Marc Brooks is a graduate of Next One – the Chicago Urban League’s entrepreneurship development program. And he is a proud Black business owner whose pride is represented in his restaurant’s service, food, employees and beautiful atmosphere. John likes the shrimp and grits dish. It's Hip Hop Baby! - How does a busy Mom make sure her young girls learn as much as they can at home while she's away trying to start a movement? It's Hip Hop, Baby! is a black owned children's entertainment company that produces educational videos my children love! Candi Carter, whose husband went to Kellogg School of Management with John, is a cool sista who wanted to create a hip hop way to teach toddlers the basics like letters, colors, numbers, animals and healthy eating/exercise. I was so proud of her this year because she's 40 with a new baby and Warner Music Group decided to distribute her line of DVDs and CD this past March. Justin Chambers from Greys Anatomy, Holly Robinson Peete, Roland Martin, and CNN/Tom Joyner are all big fans! Go to Amazon.com right now. DVDs are half off! So buy black and buy up ya'll! Your kids will love it, just as much as Cara and Cori do. ("a cool sista who wanted to create a hip hop way to teach toddlers the basics like letters, colors, numbers, animals" the letter "r" is apparently not black friendly)

Got Melanin? If anyone wishes to join in the bigotry games, there is a page where you can sign up to be listed on their most favored skin color business list. http://www.eefortomorrow.com/joinus.html How they intend to screen their listees could prove interesting. Bigotry legal precedent, anyone? Questions to consider: Is there a test for melanin density before one's business is deemed "black enough"? How do they confirm one's "blackness"? Will there be a simple telephone interview to test for Ebonics understanding in order to qualify as "black enough"? Will a genetic screening be required, or is a "black man's" word good enough (since only lighter races lie)? How much melanin is necessary to be considered "black"? What about mixed-race business owners? Do they deserve 50 pixels and a mule like "real blacks" or do they need their own "experiment" in blatant, racist favoritism? Will America see a future filled with "Support the 25% Philippino, 25% Dominican, 25% Mormon "North Atlantic Islander", 25% Naragansette Indian Business Owners" websites?

Racists. Pure and simple. When I read, "It's like, my people have been here 400 years and we don't even have a Walgreens to show for it." all I could think of was the backlash Bush 41 caught when he referred to the black community as "you people", yet here we are faced with an idiot racist declaring blacks to be a separate people. It is like MLK and his vision of one people has been replaced with a new idiocy worse than bigotry.
