iOS4 now runs without problems on 3Gslow-
I guess a running system will always be the result of install&uninstall, hack&crack, reconfigure, downgrade&upgrade, try&error and so on... ;-)

after restoring to 4.0 I've got a ""Yay, push notifications work fine!" from the iPusher-
I never owned an official SIM....
...means that the once installed pushdoctor-certs are saved when synchronizing the iPhone in iTunes.
Now I have to think about advantages and disadvantages of iOS 4.0 on the iPhone 3Gslow ;-)

I mean: pushdoctor was installed successfully under 4.0 - will it work again when I restore the saved 4.0 iPhone-configuration in iTunes?

I downgraded from 4.0 to 3.1.2(3G slow-device) -shsh blobs saved for 4.0-
I synced the 4.0 in iTunes(PushDoctor was installed successsfully in 4.0).
now it's nearly impossible to get certs from pushdoctor-server.
Will the corect pushdoctor-certs be reimported after
upgrade to 4.0(custom_fw) again and restoring saved 4.0-data in iTunes ?????

but attention for downgraders from iOS4 to 3.1.x :
you can't restore data in iTunes from saved iOS4 to 3.1.x- use app like PhoneView or netatalk, or ssh
to save your data.
