Keldoo, we have been watching Food Revolution and it is quite sad (I saw the episode with the keys who could not identify the fruits and vegetables but knew what a chicken nugget was)! But I fear that these types of cuts will close down prematurely any discussions about improving the nutritional value of food and in fact, I suspect that as schools look to cut costs the nutritional value is going to go right out of the window.

And Ernessa, I think planning on making Betty's lunches are great. But now that Sekou is two and we are feeling the constraints of being working parents, I find myself struggling just to ensure that the meals we do make at home our nutritious I think a lot of parents would like to do that, but find that in the end between balancing work and family life they just can't and will have to rely on schools to provide nutritious meals to our kids. So cuts like these are really scary.

This is beyond brilliant and too cute! Although you know I do not believe in birthday parties for a 1 year old since I fundamentally believe they will not remember a thing and it is more of us than them. We opted for dinner with family and held off on the party until this year.

Thanks for the insight. I think I am going to ask for the 3g version. Although I may go with the 32Gb versus the 64GB. I have a 8 GB iPhone now and it is not full even with hundreds of photos, a host of videos, all of my music, etc. I think even if I added files, apps and some presentations I still might be okay.

Again, thanks for the review it was very helpful.

Justin, first thanks so much for the review, I have been waiting very patiently!

Secondly, major decisions are relying on your insights. I believe that I gave finally convinced my husband to get me an iPad for my birthday, but I was pushing for the 64GB 3g version. After reading your review, I am not so sure. Here is my thought process. One, I was hoping to do a lot of word processing, spreadsheets and presentations on it and I thought the extra memory would be worthwhile with saved files (assuming you can save doc, ppt and xls files). And two, I am prohibited from accessing the Wifi network at work and I have not found one nearby I can tap in to. So I use my iPhone ALOT during the workday and thought an iPad with 3g would be ideal. So based on those two thoughts, would your recommendations still be the same?

Wow, this does have them all now doesn't it. I did now know that Dolph Lundgren was still alive, let alone acting.

As a parent of a soon to be (in two weeks) two year old, I would not even think about taking Sekou to Disneyland right now! First, at with most kids his age he is spiraling between significant separation anxiety and "the terrible two's." I cannot even imagine what a disaster it would be if freaked because there were too many people around and one of us went to grab something (e.g., was out of his sight for even a second while the other was right there) or he wanted something and we said no so he threw his body to the pavement and went crazy! No, no, no. Perhaps Betty will be different, supposedly every child is (I have not actually found this to be the case), but for me the question is premature until you know what type of child you are dealing with. Oh and CH, Sekou is barely aware of what day it is, somehow I do not think he'd even remember Micky Mouse!

(CONTINUED....) I know it always feels like we are torn as working mothers between our careers and our children, but they both encompass who we are and that is okay. No guilt. Your're daughter is in a great place with a firm routine and excellent caregivers. Go on your trip, make arrangements to talk on Skype and in between working get some rest (I bet you could use it).

The first time we really left Sekou for an extended period of time was this past January when we went away for 8 days to Jamaica for our ten year anniversary. Even though this was a trip that was in the plan for years, I felt pretty guilty leading up to it. Plus we were taking Sekou out of his comfort zone (and awaye from his normal child care provider and routine) and leaving him with my in-laws. I felt like the worst parent in the world when I put him down that night knowing that I would not be there when he woke up in the morning.

But alas, we all survived!

Sekou spent some precious bonding time with his paternal grandparents (maybe a bit too much according to my MIL) and we spent some much needed time together reconnecting as partners, not just as parents. We had an amazing trip and we made arrangements in advance to talk to Sekou every other night on Skype, which worked really well (more for my benefit then Sekou's).
