I think Nancy would rather pull her own teeth than resign her office. She is, afterall, the most powerful woman in the world at this moment and pretty much in charge. We might as well be addressing her as Madam President! Sick thought huh!
Here's a thought! How about America really let's their voice be heard loud and clear in the mid-term elections by not voting for a single member of the House or the Senate who voted in favor of these ridiculous "spending bills," that they lke to refer to as Emergency Economic Stimulus. Better yet, don't vote for a single incumbent! A "bloddless" revolution might be just the thing to finally get their undivided attention!
Maybe not the self-made ones, at least they know how to properly manage money and would certainly favor a flat tax!
How about just simply "Congress shall make no law...?" Haven't they screwed everything up enough?
I have read a number of truly great ideas on this site today and while I'm thrilled that America is waking up and paying a little more attention to what our government is doing, I have a feeling that to bring about the kind of changes we have been discussing, we will need to make a little more noise. It's time for "feet in the street!" If there is anyone out there from Northwest florida, i am ready to organize and bring our grievances to the full attention of our districts' representative. It is much easier to ignore three thousand e-mails than it is to ignore three thousand people picketing your office!!!
"Congress shall make no law … abridging … the right of the people peaceably … to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
I believe that particular statement refers primarily to protecting the people's right to protest, assemble, and petition the government. I am certain that you would agree that our founders did not intend for this to allow special interest groups to bribe, bully, or otherwise improperly influence the votes of our Congressmen.
Stop sending lawyers to Congress and start sending the teachers, fireman, doctors, , nurses, contractors, and others who are truly REPRESENTATIVE of their districts as our founders intended.
