Networking Etiquette has been around since about 1983. Look it up on Wikipedia - I'd link it but the system ate my comment with the link.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Victim: The kids, not the dog, are the problem | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

Ugh - I knew they'd murder the dog. Every one of those kids - in addition to the existing charges - should be charged with animal cruelty for kicking the poor dog in the first place. These kids are the ones who should be put down, not the dog. Did the dog think it was defending the kids? Probably. It for sure thought it was doing what its adopted pack wanted it to do - and it was. I hope the parents are found financially liable, in addition to their kids going to juvenile hall and then being put in foster homes. At least the 15 year old.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Cancer patient: My death, my choice | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

It took my mother 9 horrible months of agony and misery to die from cancer. (Incurable, inoperable, final stage when discovered oat cell cancer.) I honestly cannot say what she would have chosen to do. I only knew her for 16 years and that was over 16 years ago now. But I do know that if I get cancer myself, or should I say "when" since she smoked around me my entire life and I'm obviously genetically dispositioned to get it, that I'd like this to be an option. A cure would be even better.

I'm afraid of insurance companies peddling this stuff. Other than that, we voted for it whether I agree with it or not. I can see doctors refusing to administer it, since I would think it would violate their oath, unless some of them feel that easing someone's suffering by letting them die sooner than later is humane vs. doing harm. I'm just not qualified to say.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Bill extends restraining order protection to pets | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

Because the pet bill won't cost as much? Restraining orders are really for after the fact, or for if the police can get there in time. Other than that they aren't worth much as far as protection goes. Physically protecting all people who have a restraining order against someone would be great but probably isn't realistic. I wish it were!

Glad to: Wow - I had no idea: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DXM#Recreational_use Recreational use Main article: Recreational use of dextromethorphan Since their introduction, over-the-counter preparations containing dextromethorphan have been used in a manner inconsistent with their labeling, often as a recreational drug.[3] At doses higher than medically recommended, dextromethorphan is classified as a dissociative hallucinogenic drug, with visible effects that are similar to ketamine and phencyclidine (PCP). It can produce distortions of the visual field, feelings of dissociation, perceived bodily distortion, and excitement.[20]

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Wintry weather kept many state workers at home | KOMO News- Seattle, Washington | Local

I was able to commute from home because I work on a great team, but I really wish Microsoft would have officially closed its campus. There were several days last week that I could have driven into work, but getting home would have been very dangerous. Also, I'd swear that Komo said it was going to rain today. We got several more inches of snow instead. I sure hope it rains this weekend and warms up some!

The fact that he made $X per year has been shoved down my throat during my commute by KOMO radio for the last several weeks. I didn't care then and I don't care now. I wish he could have kept his salary. Haggling over the salary of someone who does not impact me is not something I'm interested in doing, it's none of my business and it's none of yours.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : District suspends hot lunch removal policy | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

That's nice, and you're right, but people that make kids starve out of pure meanness like in the article - when they don't have to - should lose their jobs. I don't consider it dirty work to feed a hungry kid, and my kids get great meals when they aren't at school. (Most people replying to these posts have their own computers, jobs, etc. and aren't likely to be on welfare.) I like the hand stamping technique. It's a sad world we live in today when strangers would rather a kid eat a cold cheese sandwhich and throw away a hot meal. Don't you think?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Good for Barbara Burley! @jit4806 - clearly, you either don't have kids or your kids are super-perfect, in which case congratulations! As goobster71 mentions, sometimes kids's accounts go behind and we parents don't know about it. I had that happen more than once last year, and I'm sure it will happen this year at least once as well. Also, you're sort of missing the point: The school district was throwing away otherwise good food rather than serving it. Yeah, I'd say that's a problem that belongs solely to the school district.
