Fantastic article Mr. Schlichter.... Rest assured, this whole event sent a enormous shock wave thru Hollywood, exactly for the reasons you mentioned. What's interesting is it was the first real time I've seen Hollywood actually regret taking such a had political line in films the last few years. As you said, the youth were fully against SOPA and Hollywood saw they don't have the pull they thought they had. In fact, they may not have any pull (except internally). This greatly frightens them because without high influence, industry will struggle greatly going forward.

We were very pleased with how our predictions came out this weekend, being closer than all other prediction sites. Only "Paranormal Activity 3," was one we wished was closer. Monday will be a huge box office day for "Paranormal Activity" however.

Thanks for saying that. This is the main thing we speak out against. Comments like Mr. Freeman's have this effect on films. At best, it saps the money making potential of a film. At worst, its becomes a box office death sentence. We would love to know how many people across America, just like you, said the exact same thing. We bet it would be a sobering statistic. Very much so. We touched upon that in our essays recently. That and just how much "more" money it seems to making even over present films. Based on feedback, we've found the success of "King" is making audiences long for the era where films like "Lion King," were very common.

"Warrior" coming in lower was really a surprise. The film had very ratings from the audience and even the film critics (shutter), have to love what "The Help" is doing box office wise... Hollywood may actually learn from it.
