HGTV Dream Home : The View from the Master Bedroom

I think he's been working out his abnormal emotional attachments, quietly in his own mind, so that he can let them go in his own way. I told him if he doesn't part with something I'm going to have garage sale while he's at work. Snap On Tools 1 dollar each. Rusty Jeep 10 cents. Old Laser disc player in large cabinet FREE. Engine looking things FREE. I think he's been giving some thought to cleaning things up. I would love to give him a nice organized garage with shelves and work benches. What he really needs is a shop or a new hobby. Ooooops I logged in to my alter ego account to vote for Honolulu, and forgot to log out. LOL.

HGTV Dream Home : Step Inside HGTV Dream Home 2011

I haven't really heard much. I have been communicating with Abby from the Message Boards. I don't know if she can help me or not though. I think Chad P might be able to help, if only he could hear my cries for help. Other than not wanting to confuse people and get them thinking there are two different cami's, I am beginning to accept my special Dream Home name. I almost even like it, I think I just like it 'cause it's colorful though. I've never thought people should have two ID's and now I find myself exactly in that situation, so for that reason I guess I really just need My Dream Home name cami restored to me, so I can let 2cami go away peacefully without incident... I don't know I might decide I like her too much.

HGTV Urban Oasis : Las Venus: Mid-Century Modern Style, From Traditional to Glam

It's funny how some people live. I have about 3 good pairs of shoes at any given time. Flip flops, Sunday shoes, and tennis shoes.. Ok I have a pair of white sandals that are on their way to the trash, I just can't part with them yet. My husband has three too. Boots, Sunday shoes, and tennis shoes. He refuses to buy new Sunday shoes, because he bought them in New Zealand and they are supposed to last forever (so he says), he has been wearing them for 26 years (don't worry they don't stink). If anyone comes across a pair of Nomads let me know, maybe I can switch them when he isn't looking. I've already searched the internet, I just can't find any. They used to have 3 or 4 inch rubber soles, now he might have 1 1/2 inches left. It's a source of contention and humor around here.

Blog Cabin : Enter the Giveaway Today!

James you should be careful about writing your real full names on the blog. You can be found with the information you just provided. You could be found by someone who would want to harass you or hurt you. I don't believe we have those kind of people lurking around on these blogs, but in general, using a fake name is good internet safety. I understand how you feel about wanting something for someone you love. I understand for the want of a home of your own. Keep in mind that although the house is free if you won, over $100,000.00 dollars will need to be paid as income tax. If you were to win and sell though, you may have enough money left over after taxes to buy a home of your own.

Sorry to hear about your dog, I'm glad he was found and doing better. I have a boy who has a low IQ and has been in the same class as down syndrome kids. I have never met a person with down syndrome that didn't have special qualities that if they were tested for on an IQ test, they would be at genius levels. There are some people that are very intelligent and have high academic IQ's but would fail miserabley at that same test.. My boy is pretty sweet and tries to be good and make good decisions but doesn't always understand the consequences of some decisions, but he is often my best behaved out of my five children. He has his moments of frustration though, where he can't be reasoned with. That is a pretty darn good garage, it sure puts mine to shame.

Thank you so much Kathy. That is a pretty nice garage already, certainly better than mine. It seems pretty deep too. I'm surprised to hear any disapointment about this home, I think it's one of the best Scripps has given away. The cash value of the home isn't as much as the other homes, but if you're looking for an adventure and a place to live and call home, this home is it. If I had the money and was ready to move, I would be the first one standing in line to make an offer. This may very well be the first Scripps giveaway home that the winner will want to keep long term. I would like to see that. I would also like to see more remodels, especially with the Green Home. Looking at the pics of the garage again, I noticed those garden tools in the garbage can are clearly marked (Josh) so I guess he's taking them with him. Darn there is a lot a person would have to pack up to drive clear across country to their new home. LOL.

How is your post Labor Day, Day going? Are you wondering when the next Holiday will come along and give you that much needed extra day of rest from your daily grind.. I feel for you, 'cause unless you work at the bank or school, you may not get one until Veterans Day, and even some have to work on that day. Hang in there and keep dreaming about the Dream Home it seems to help make those long stretches between extra days off, less stressful. I should also mention those who long to get back into the daily grind, and probably wanting to work every Holiday. The Dream helps to ease that heavy burden too. Just keep hitting the pavement, to keep your dreams in check. We do have to maintain some semblance of reality when dreaming.

I searched around the site last night for over an hour just trying to figure out if there was a double car garage on the other side of the house. Only saw one pic on this whole site of the double garage doors. So I assumed that yes there is actually a 2 car garage and 1 car garage. What is it that they don't want us to see in the double garage? It is pretty nice looking on the outside of the double garage, I can't imagine what they could be hiding on the inside.

Sometimes you just have to let go and let Mr. Fate and Miss. Lady Luck decide. I'm thinking if you win the Dream Home you can buy your own Blog Cabin or the Green Home of your choice in an area that's less expensive. ____I'm a fan of the Blog Cabin as far as livin goes. But would welcome a win of anything at this point.

I missed the Urban Oasis special, but if I stay up until 3 am I can still watch it. Not a very good way to start the week though. There are a few more showings in the next couple of weeks. So for those that did watch it, Did they get close to the window and aim the camera all the way down? I wonder if I could ever live that high up. I'm hoping they'll show more of the amenities of the building. Ok thanks bloggers above me, I should have read your comments first. Thank you.

For any income above $373,000.00 your income tax bracket will be 35% at least. So if you win a prize that has a ARV-actual retail value- of around 2.5 mil, which is considered yearly income, you are looking at just a Federal tax of 900,000.00 , which will be due to the IRS the following April, so for the Dream Home it would be April 2012. Some people will also have to pay State tax, if the State they live in has a State tax.. Someone posted the aprox. HOA fees, which means the "Home Owners Association" fees. I don't remember how much it was but I remember thinking it was at least $600/mo, not sure though. If the home your living in is assessed by the County to be a 2 mil home, yikes. Your yearly property tax, could easily be over 30,000.00 per year. Now I'm not an expert at all, these figures come from following the blogs for the last 5 years, and the few guesses so far this year. Someone did post a general HOA/mo fee somewhere. There is still a lot we don't know for sure about the 2011 Dream Home prize. If there is a deal where the builder will buy back the home or HGTV will offer a cash option, I think a person may walk away with 1 mil. after paying Fed tax. You can build yourself I nice home exactly where you want and have money left over to invest. There is nothing wrong with loving the Dream Home and Dreaming about winning the Dream Home, because it's all good. And you can take a lot of the same ideas from the Dream Home and put into your own home.

I think the blog masters must have put the blogs on automatic suspension for certain words or phrases, and you won't get reinstated until they weed through each person's case and determine if your suspension should be over or not. They may just decide I need to be suspended in the misblogged file a little longer, to teach me a lesson. I may be extra busy tying up the phones at HGTV tomorrow. I hope they are all well rested from their vacation, 'cause I'm gonna keep them busy. Coop is this your official testimony to HGTV blogging court on my behalf? If so thanks a bunch. I hope they like you.

Happy Labor Day everyone. Unfortunately we are actually laboring, as if it's what a person is supposed to do on LABOR DAY. I suppose it could be worse, we could be in labor about ready to have another baby. Today, we are cleaning and remodeling the boys room. Would you believe after 8 years we are still scratching our heads wondering how we ended up with 3 little boys.? The boys have to share a room 'cause their older sisters fight so much. Well..NO MORE!! The girls are just going to have to get over themselves, 'cause we have to have another BR for awhile. Don't worry though we put an end to the problem 6 mos. after 8 years ago.

I hate to be the voice of reason here, but can they figure out how to hide Federal and State income of $2,500,000.00 from the IRS. The standard federal tax on that would be about 900,000.00+. If there was a cash prize of say 500,000.00 that would help but your Fed taxes would then be over 1 mil. You can still have your Dream, just sell and make your dream exactly what you want it to be, without a mortgage and HOA fees and high prop. tax.
