Thus, a few 'unnecessary' missions might keep our soldiers motivated, and fulfilled in their work, and might encourage others to sign up for military service wehre they wouldn't, if they thought they would never get to put their training into practice. It would also do some good in the world, which may make the world a place we would prefer to live in, anyway. Also, although the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were unnecessary when they were begun, they are necessary now, since Al Queda is an ongoing threat to us, and is fighting for strongholds, at least in Afghanistan, and maybe still in Iraq.
