This is true except for the fact that "Canaanites" do not exist outside the Bible, and the same goes for an ancient Kingdom of Israel - the evidence for this entity is zero, except for those who clutch at straws eg low chronology proponents or the "Encoded Bible" fraternity.

A technically accurate term for the indigenous people of that area of city states is West Semitic.
