it's not an issue of newness to me, it's an issue of bad adaptation. Looney Tunes, as you mentioned, is a slapstick, and they tried to translate it to a weird baby slice of life thing and a sitcom. if you ask me, both kinda sucked, because they just didn't work. it's looking the same thing with EG. the execs forced Dhx to thrust the setting from a fantasy world to a seemingly average (and, imo, stereotypically idealized) high school. the problem is that it just feels awkward in this setting thus far, given the tone of the previous episodes (it's slice of life, but it still has griffons, phoenixes, wendigos, and the kitchen sink, so it's pretty fantasy to me).

I'm sure the writers will make an attempt to pull something good with this, but I still think it's risky ground for them, given the heavy change.

actually, the newer CN cartoons are pretty great. the classics are fun to watch, but sometimes you gotta take off your rose-tinted lenses and embrace the new stuff.

maybe it's just me, but I think that whole fiasco ended up making the whole game better. I mean, skullgirls engine AND Faust made characters? sounds cool tome, but maybe it's a bias, because I never enjoyed fanwork beyond the fanart.

let me just say that it's not worth trying to make the stupid and angry ones feel shame for thier actions. just regard them as being dumbasses and move on with what you're doing.

honestly, I still don't like EG's concept or character designs at all, and I overreacted way too much when I first saw it, but I can at least regard that the animators and other guys are still working like hell on.

this only now made me realize how terrifyingly big their anthro human whatever heads are. also, from henceforth, since I dunno who this supposed "plot advancement boyfriend" is supposed to be, I have dubbed him Bluehair McWearsacoat.

overall, I am a little less upset about this than i was last night, but I still don't like the whole high school romance plot with McWearsacoat shoved in (is he actually just Soarin with a different voice? I hope not, that makes it worse for me.). I'm definitely not gonna pay to watch it, but I'd probably see it pirated (OMG EVIL) or from someone else's dvd though, just to riff on.

Funny, all I'm seeing is a monster high ripoff that seems to look Laruen Faust's ideas in the eye and say "Fuck you.".

Companies intended to make money to maintain standing in a market oriented around money want...money? GASP.

I can kinda see where you're coming from, but if they HAD to do this, they could have at least given it more of a spin towards our demogrpahic (maybe even a little yknow, actual QUALITY?). arguably, bronies probably add more to the IP than the actual girls, therefore more return, and therefore, more money.

of course, as they say in a rap song i haven't even listened to, "Mo money, mo problems."

Romance driven high school plot, with typical "omg MEEN PREP CLIQUE" antagonist?
No thank you, sir, no thanks at all. instead, discontent. massive amounts of discontent.

I greatly recall the DMCA I received that forced me to draw equine furry art, myself.
