Big Journalism : I Got My Correction Thanks to the The New York Times -- Now Who's Next?

To SOME of the noble AB defenders - Remember that AB is totally awesome, but still human. If we transform him into yet another media god that should be shielded at all costs from criticism (even from his own followers), then aren't we setting ourselves up as sheep once again? I don't think AB has such thin skin that he needs continuous intellectual thought protection throughout the internet against seemingly like-minded citizens (research rainmaker's reply history) who dare question a specific set of his actions. Constructive criticism, even if ultimately dismissed through intellectual discourse, is part of a healthy debate that only serves to strengthen all members of the patriotic, pragmatic intelligentsia - AB is further strengthened (via supporters playing "Devil's Advocate" momentarily) and Rainmaker1145 gains valuable information concerning legal proceedings involving media.

You all are behaving like children. Rainmaker - You have allowed your frustration over the continued scandals of the progressive left to lead you down the path of paranoia. Perhaps a little faith that the intricacies of AB's profession warrant a rather covert style of operation is in order. Also, is it at all possible to view AB's financial success as a side-effect to the valuable product he delivers instead of his sole motivation?

Big Government : ObamaCare: The Rationing Begins in Earnest

What are your projected hours/week vs. yearly take-home pay (after tax) for an internist? for a cardiovascular (non-academic, ER on call) surgeon? Compare this to the expected "wait period" starting at 1st year med school (or "Education Plus") and ending the first day of actual paid employment (post-residency). Also account for the "hands-on" experience required (logically) for successful training, in addition to the effects your system will have on the current academic/NIH,NSF-funded scientific research structure. (If your software is to replace the first 2 years of medical school, thus vanquishing the need for excessive tuition to pay salaries for professors that "teach" primarily vs. "perform funded-experiments", what type of impact should we expect on the already financially-starved (relative to defense & welfare/entitlements) state of USA science? Not a "gotcha" - simply further probing into a possible lightbulb

I humbly submit that "rainmaker1145" has demonstrated an impressive capacity of intellect that is complemented with solid attempts to educate himself(?) with facts. You should make the sacrifice of running for public office to replace the current political nightmares. However, first you must publish your opinions in a book that serves to educate individuals voters who have yet to grasp our economic realities so that your future speeches fall not on deaf ears.

Big Government : The Liberal Tax Revolt: Is it a Game-Changer?

More likely the inner workings of your frontal lobe - education can only insert the media/information needed into your brain so that pattern recognition/generation leading to executive function/decision making can occur. I really like your frontal lobe's product above - "If you ignore human behavior, you do so at your peril"

G forbid, what if you got hit by a car in a different state, and you were only covered by a state-specific insurance plan? That's why it is all the more pragmatic to pass a 1-page bill that denies insurance companies the ability to deny coverage for a pre-existing condition and to allow all insurance companies to sell health insurance products across state lines (like they do for home, life, auto, etc.)

The Healthcare "Reform" passed recently is NOT about healthcare, it's about control. Why would Obama and Democrats publically lie about the mandate not being a tax in the past, when that is now their main defense in court? People wanting to control human beings often resort to falsehoods in order to "progress" their movements... (soon to be ObamacareGate, Climategate, JournoList = withholding information is lying)

Some individuals might have a problem with the President as a Muslim because they follow Sharia law as a priority and it is incompatible with the Declaration of Independence, US Constitution, the Bill of Rights - including equal basic rights for females, individuals with non-heterosexual orientation, and non-Muslims. Although throughout history all religions may at some point have been used incorrectly as a weapon by power-hungy individuals, I also think many religious scholars have pointed out that the only religious group to follow a written document that directs said followers to kill individuals who will not submit to said religious doctrine is in fact Islam. Thus, if a non-Muslim has knowledge of these edicts of Islam, and objects to them, that non-Muslim cannot be labeled awith Islamophobia as their fear is based on rational thought.

Also, the USA has already been taking care of the sick - no ER can lawfully turn away an individual in need. If an individual "is one medical accident" away from filing bankruptcy, then perhaps they should identify this serious risk ASAP and take serious action(s) to downgrade this risk as most hard-working, personally responsible individuals are forced to do every day. Don't even bother with the claim that certain individuals in this imaginary category of yours lack the resources to do so.
