Has KCRG or the Gazette considered reading the project labor agreement and publishing points that the public may be interested in?

Where was KCRG, KGAN and the Gazette following the story to report to the people? Only AFTER the fact?????

By the way Mr Pmoeranz, it may be status quo in West Des Moines, but it isn't in Cedar Rapids.

Theses are the types of attitudes that will finish sinking what is left of Cedar Rapids.

The athletes are minimum wage employees. The "Scholarship" they get is simply a business expense. Truth be told most are financed from endowments that have no impact on the costs to the athletics department. One gate for a home game at Kinnick is north of $3million, that's $18million per year. Go to the Des Moines Registers web site and check out the highest paid State employees.

Like everything else prices go up, energy increases, pension rise. In my book I question if it is the cost of the education or the value of the education. In todays economy it does not make sense go go into debt five or for some perhaps even six figures, only to find no jobs after graduation.

This $30-million-plus cost will be over and above the $75.6-million cost of the Convention Complex project.

If I'm reading what KCRG has written this week, the cost has jumped from 75.6 million to 105.6 million due to the parking ramp upgrade? This increase to the City does not include the lose of the 15.1 million from the I-Jobs funding that Branstad withdrew due to the project labor agreement.

KCRG,

Can your news organization confirm that all funding has been secured for this project? I thought based on a report two weeks ago that there was still 35 million needed to make this project and facility a reality.

GOOD LORD....

The size of the engineering department and the City has to pay a consultant to figure out the additional seconds when the street is closed.

UNBELIEVABLE

Very well spoken. I was going to post the same thing. When the value of the dollar comes back (if ever) we'll see gas drop. IF the USA loses reserve currency status expect European style gas prices. $5 will look cheap at that point.

Why shouldn't it involve teachers being cut?
