I want is a candidate who supports small government, low taxes and personal liberty. Lets be honest they are overused and non-specific so - the labels "conservative" and "establishment" don't really mean anything without context to the speaker. Now, what I absolutely positively do NOT want is a second Obama term. Lets all study an electoral map and make sure that is part of what guides us. Oh, and Yes, I do want to pick someone electable and No, I dont think that is a given.

I wish I understood Palin's support. She is principled and consistent - two thing Gingrich is not. Also, everyone needs to look at an electoral map before they keep parroting that Mr. Sourpuss is going to kick ass and beat Obama. I think and hope that any of our candidates will win, but I think we are being silly to think that he is the strongest because he acts tough.

Unless you are a party of one, it is unreasonable to assume that everyone will be in lock-step on every issue. We need to come together as a party on the most important issues. I think that the Tea Party has identified some key point that can form the core for our continued Republican coalition: personal liberty, smaller government, lower taxes. The rest (wars, gay marriage, that 15% of our HS students take Calculus vs 100% of Korean HS students, and personal view on garden gnomes and flamingo lawn ornaments) can all be worked out through compromise (except maybe not the math issue).
