Beating a man when he is lying down on the ground is not media hype. The video is clear. He's not resisting anything. And ramming a car is not attempted murder. It's obviously illegal, but it's not attempted murder. Get real.

They beating that King took was driven far more by hate than it was fear.

That's too bad. From what I understand, he had really turned his life around. For a good number of years he was heavily involved in drugs and alcohol, but I had read and heard on NPR that he had been clean and sober for a number of years. Hopefully this premature death wasn't the result of a relapse into those bad behaviors.
