Looping Worship : Freedom Is Here - Hillsong United

All of our Premium Loops have .mp3 samples to listen to the entire track; this one, however, is a free loop created by Seth Haberman and available at Loop Community.

It's standard stereo loop--click left and right, because we usually run the click track live through Ableton Live, and the click is on a third isolated mono channel. However, you'll be able to edit the .rns file, so you can just add a click track and pan everything else one way! Hope this helps, Nick

Lee; I think it's due to the fact that PayPal won't accept $0 transactions. Give us a little while to take a look at the issue, and we'll come up with something! Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience. Nick

Looping Worship : Making the Leap: Transitioning to Using Loops in Worship

Hey Nathan; Actually, most of the loops we create here are done in Reason (4 or 5). These .rns files can be edited, so you'll be able to open the Reason file and pan everything left or right. Once you do that, you can create a Redrum with a "click" sound, and just pan that track opposite of the others. Export this new file as an .aif or .mp3, and it'll be a stereo track--click on one side, loop on the other. However, the "recommended" way of using a loop is to create a file with 3 channels: a stereo loop on the right and left, and a click on a third channel. In order to set up your band to use this type of file, you'll need two things right off the bat: a hardware unit called an interface that can handle more than two channels simultaneously (as most PCs/laptops can't do more than L/R output), and a piece of software that can direct those channels to the right place (again, because things like iPhones/iTunes/etc. can't do this). Reason and Ableton Live can both set specific tracks to an audio interface. In both of the aforementioned programs, you can even set up a click for each song, and it will sync up with your loop. This click can be sent to a third channel in your interface, and can then go to an IEM system or a headphone amp. Further, if you still want to run a basic L/R setup, we'll prepare a .rns file and/or an .mp3 file for you that is set up this way. Just check out our premium loops, and send us an email with your requirements! Hope this helps--let me know! Thanks, Nick

Looping Worship : Making the Leap: Transitioning to Using Loops in Worship

Well, a lot of times we find that way is great for a general setup, however it can be limiting in that you lose the ability to have the track in stereo (loop is mono on the left, click is mono on the right, for example). If you're running out of an iPod, that's fine, but if you really want the depth a stereo sample can provide, you'll probably want to invest in an interface that can channel three tracks: Loop in stereo (L and R), and a third track going directly to a monitor send. We actually have a Firewire (for processing speed) interface and we use 5 output channels because our keyboardist runs GarageBand live: Channels 1 & 2: Keyboard output (stereo) Channels 3 & 4: Loop (stereo) Channel 5: Click to headphone amp (mono) Hope this helps!
Looping Worship : Sweetly Broken - Jeremy Riddle

Andy; Yes--you can change keys in Reason by highlighting the parts/instruments you need to transpose, and then using the Transpose Notes tool to change the key up or down to whatever you need. Be sure not to change any of the drum parts, or any other instrument that changes sounds for each different note. Hope this helps!

Thanks, Clark! Yeah, Reason can be a hefty load on your processor--I recommend using Reason to create the loop, and then export the loop to an audio (.aif) file for playback. Much better load time/processing speeds that way. Talk to you soon!

Thanks, Jon! Honestly, we couldn't figure out how to the reverse-piano effect from within Reason at the time, so we had a pre-recorded sound that we ran through a Combinator, I believe. I think I'm going to figure out a good way to run a reverse effect through a delay rack, and I'll be sure to do a post about it! Thanks for stopping by!

Looping Worship : Worship Loops Video: How to Create A Loop In Reason

Hey Johnny; Sorry for taking so long to get back to you--I've been working on getting some other people to help out around here, but so far it's just me! Anyway, my opinion about Ableton vs. Reason involves a specific approach to their applications. We tend to use Live as a performance and playback device, and we don't do much on-the-fly programming (though it can handle that stuff VERY well). We tend to lean toward using Reason as a loop- and sound-creation module, then export the songs as audio files (.wav) to import into Live for playback. The reasons for this are: 1. Reason is much more processor-heavy than Live, and my poor old Powerbook G4 can't handle live playback from an uncompressed Reason audio file, and 2. I honestly haven't figured out how to use Ableton as a loop-creation program--I learned to use it strictly for playback purposes! As far as multi-channel midi input--I believe Reason can do that, though you'll need to invest in a midi or multi-channel interface (FireWire or USB--check out the equipment page) to get up and running. Johnny, once again, thanks for stopping by--please feel free to contact us or post here to let us know how you're doing. I hope this helped a little bit! Nick

Looping Worship : Not to Us - Chris Tomlin

Hi Michael; Thanks for visiting LW. We used to direct link to SacredLoops.org, but we were sent a nice note letting us know how they felt about our linking to their loops--and then they took down all the links to their loops completely. Rather than not link at all, we decided to simply point in their direction so they wouldn't have to stop posting loops. Sorry for the confusion.

Looping Worship : Not to Us - Chris Tomlin

Hi JimK. Sorry for the confusion--the titles go to iTunes as a reference point for the song. The part in parenthesis links to the actual loop, unless it's hosted on SacredLoops.org. In that case (like this track), you'll need to visit SacredLoops.org and find the loop--they're currently not a fan of direct linking to their content and loops for some reason, so instead of ignoring them completely, we decided to simply reference that the loops are available on a fellow link site. Thanks for visiting!
