Here's a thought experiment for anyone who's interested: For the duration of one month you gain the ability to shapeshift. You can become absolutely anything you can think of. Question 1. What would you shapeshift into? Make a short list of forms you would take or changes to your normal appearance that you would make. Question 2. What does this list say about you and how you feel about your appearance? Question 3. I'm fascinated by this as well, and I'm one of those who would change gender. Personally, I chose what I chose because I don't particularly like being male, to be honest. So what do I have to lose by switching if I'm going to start a new life in another world? :3 If you want to study this then perhaps you should make a survey and use it to eliminate certain other reasons (horny teens, "female ponies look cuter", etc.).
