I'm sure "Uncle" has told his golfing buddies at the clubhouse. Men are boys. They can't keep their mouths shut about sex; how they're getting it or how their homeboy is getting it. We all take risks with EVERYTHING in life law or none. And that's just my point. Once you know the risks, you make the choice of how to proceed. This couple had better options to choose from. But instead they took a risk on a procedure that has no legal guarantees, gambled and lost. They have to take responsibility for their choices and the risks that come with them.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I am talking about the law. There is a law against rape. There is no law against a surrogate keeping the baby. The couple should have known that going into the arrangement so that they knew what they were getting into. Either way, it was their bad decision that cost them a child. Are they a victim of this woman's deception? Yes. But they must have known the risks of such an arrangement. Therefore they share some of the blame of the situation. By contrast, rape is not a legal prearranged agreement. A drunk woman does not pay two cops to rape her, nor is drunkenness a legal excuse to rape. It is a crime, not a mutual contract. Therefore, she is a blameless victim.

Don't misunderstand me, I feel bad for this couple. It's terrible what this woman has done to them. But they voluntarily placed themselves in a vulnerable position when there were other, more viable options available. So my sympathy is limited.

HA! I knew you were gonna say that. There are different types of victims. Some create and contribute to their dilemmas (like this couple), others do not ( a drunk woman being raped by police officers who were supposed to be helping her get safely into her apartment [true story]). What this couple did is akin to gambling. If you know the rules and play the game, you can't sue the casino.

Well there you go. They took the gamble and lost. It's messed up what this woman did, but the couple should have done their legal homework. You are going to use a surrogate and just hope that she doesn't change her mind and wreck your life, with no backup from the law? Smells like bad decisions to me.

Thanks for the full story, midge. This reads completely differently than the abbreviated one. These women didn't have sex with him at all. He suggested it and they rebuffed him. His "fat burning massages" turned into groping and inappropriate touching and they called the cops on his azz. That's the natural course of action. So I don't think we should be blaming the victims.
