Thanks for the information. I applaud you for your sense of civic responsibility. When you say "almost no one does this", I can believe it, no problem. Does that mean your polling sites are understaffed? Does it lead to long lines, long waits?
Even the position of poll worker is an elected position? That seems like a lot of trouble--to elect the many people who must man the polls only (presumably) once or twice a year. And unless it paid a lot of money, who would run for the job? I had the impression that finding sufficient poll workers was almost as hard as find sufficient jurors.
