Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Vent

Subject: Are We Living in a Police State? Dear Fellow Citizens, I appeal to you to express outrage to your elected officials regarding the latest affronts to our freedoms by the White House. Based on my reading of history and my own family’s experiences, these latest White House initiatives resemble those used by totalitarian states. I am very familiar with these tactics since I immigrated to this great country of ours, have parents who survived the Hitler years in Germany, and have relatives who resisted Communism in East Germany. I am personally outraged by the following: •INTIMIDATION - The Democratic National Committee, in undoubtedly close collaboration with the White House, released a web video on Wednesday titled "Enough of the Mob” in which they refer to constituents in community forums as “mobs” and "right-wing extremists". This labeling, at best, appears to be an attempt to intimidate average citizens from expressing their views. At worst, it could be an attempt to define and isolate the White House’s opposition for subsequent actions by either the government or its supporters. Hitler started his assault on Jews with labeling and disparaging propaganda! •INFORMANTS - The White House Blog on Tuesday started a campaign in which it asks its citizens to become informants on other citizens who have opposing points-of-view by sending any leads to flag@whitehouse.gov.. Not only does this suggest government surveillance, but this information could also be adversely used by White House supporters who can obtain the information through the Freedom of Information Act. •PROPAGANDA - The White House- sponsored video with Linda Douglas, posted on the White House website on Tuesday, is outright propaganda. It suggests that citizens cannot believe what they hear or see with the implication that only information from the government can be trusted. The video asserts that historical footage of the President stating that he wants to "eliminate" private healthcare coverage has been “doctored” and is not true. This assertion is patently false! If the White House wanted to prove their case, they could have released the “un-doctored” historical video and contrasted it with the “doctored” version. This, of course, is not possible since the latter does not exist. •INDOCTRINATION & MOBILIZATION – The White House, through its surrogates, uses the BarackObama.com (http://www.barackobama.com) website to directly communicate with its constituent supporters via web postings and direct e-mails with calls for action. This direct constituent communication by the Executive Branch is unprecedented and may be unconstitutional, if it were challenged. This direct advocacy with constituents by the White House circumvents the rightful people’s representatives in Congress and is more indicative of a totalitarian state’s means of communications than that of a republic (which we are, according to the Constitution of the United States). It is clear that the White House, along with many in the mainstream media, misunderstand what the current citizens’ movement represents. Simply stated, it is a people’s revolt against the incumbent political class who are bankrupting our great country. The people are reacting to the fact that the Federal Government: 1) is spending more money annually than it has income, 2) has a national debt that is close to five times its annual income, and 3) has spent all the money from the “Cookie Jar” intended for future financial needs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. If it were a business, it would be bankrupt and executives would be arrested for spending company investments while pretending that they are safe in a “lock-box”, using Ponzi scheme methods to avoid detection. The constituents with common sense recognize that, if left unchecked, the political class with its out-of-control spending, national debt, and unfunded liabilities will enslave our children, grandchildren, and future generations. They will do this by forcing them to become, in essence, servants to the state by virtue of having to pay most of their earnings to the government via taxes while experiencing a significantly lowered standard of living. This progression is concisely explained in Friedrich Hayak's book, “The Road to Serfdom”, written in 1944. Sincerely yours, Pete Cincinnati, Ohio

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : America's Wish List

Thought this group might be interested in viewing a draft charter we're working on for the Cincinnati (Ohio, Indianan, & Kentucky) 912Project Group Cincinnati 912Project Charter March 25, 2009 Preamble Although power has been shifting towards Washington politicians for some time now, the current financial crisis has exposed the severity of this shift, along with its long term consequences. Especially alarming is the current out-of-control spending, much of it for political purposes, which will enslave our children, grand-children, and descendants with unprecedented national debt and taxation. John Adams recognized this issue by indicating that without economic freedom, human liberty and human happiness cannot exist. Even other countries, such as China and Russia, are starting to recognize the consequences of the current out-of-control spending and are calling for a creation of a new, global reserve currency which would replace the dollar. If this materializes, it will dramatically devalue our dollar and cause immediate hyper-inflation. Mission Take back our country by shifting power back from Washington politicians to the people whom they represent. The intent is to regain the balance of power among local Municipalities, States, and the Federal Government as originally envisioned by our Founding Fathers and as originally captured in the Constitution. Goals •Stop the out-of-control government spending in Washington, especially spending motivated by political considerations to strengthen their power. •Stop the vicious cycle of politicians who personally benefit, via campaign funding from powerful lobbyists, companies, and organizations, from their votes and earmarks. Eliminate earmarks and have politicians instead depend entirely on direct, unbundled campaign contributions from individuals in order to be more accountable to them. •Term limits of no more than two terms, as exist for the Presidency, to limit politicians from establishing a power base. Additionally, politicians should be subjected to same laws and government imposed programs, such as Social Security and Medicare, as everyone else. In essence, make public office more an honor than a position of profit and power, as originally envisioned and practiced by our Founding Fathers. Overall, this would also assure that public officials stay better connected with the social, political, and economic issues confronting common citizens. •Strengthen States’ Rights relative to the Federal Government. This could be achieved by potentially supporting measures such as states passing “Claim of State Sovereignty” laws which assert that the 10th Amendment still stands. Over twenty states to date have passed this legislation. Repealing the 17th Amendment, passed in 1913, would further strengthen states’ rights. It would again have state legislators select Senators instead of selecting them through popular vote. Strategy •Directly communicate with government officials at all levels and participate in protests/ gatherings pertaining to our organization’s mission and goals. Individual letters and calls are most effective. Obtain contact information at: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/. •Monitor the media to help them do their job of assuring an honest and thorough presentation of all views pertaining to issues relevant to our organization’s mission and goals. Call, e-mail, or write letters to address any issues. Obtain contact information at: http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=111. •Actively pursue means to pass laws consistent with our organization’s mission & goals. •Actively participate in local community organizations and institutions to represent and advocate our organization’s mission and goals. •Assure honest and fair elections and a 2010 census by actively participating in both of these endeavors. Constraints / Boundaries •We are a non-political organization, but will provide a forum to politicians to share their perspective on how they align with our mission and goals. We will not endorse candidates. •While an all too powerful federal government affects many specific political, social, and economic rights and freedoms, our organization will not address, nor advocate any one of these rights or freedoms individually. Instead our organization will focus on the overall distribution of power between individuals, municipalities, states, and the federal government. For example, we will not address abortion, gun rights, etc. Focused organizations to address these issues already exist.

1. All States pass "Claim of Sovereignty" Law affirming the right to adhere to the 10th Amendment and start using it. 2. Repeal 17th Amendment passed in 1913 and revert back to State Legislators selecting Senators 3. Balanced Budget Law 4. Eliminate earmarks / pork 5. Flat or fair tax 6. Term Limits 7. No special taxpayer funded retirement or health care for lawmakers 8. Along with Obama's promise of posting all laws for 5 days, allow all district/ state constituents to vote securely so representatives and all can view citizen sentiments on the issues. The representatives would still cast the vote, but would have constituent perspective. 9. "School Choice Act" allowing competition among schools for students. Why just have choice for abortions? 10. Independent counsel to investigate ethics issues of government representatives. Policing oneself does not work!
