Col. Lakin was being denied "discovery," and that the judge would not let him call any witnesses who might add credence to his case? This military trial was a travesty of justice, in the highest sense of the word. One thing which really irked me was when I read that the military judge used exactly the same word that a civilian judge used recently, in another courtroom attempt to get Obama to prove where he was born. It struck me as peculiar that both judges said it would be an "embarrassment" for Obama to produce his birth certificate! Why would any person be "embarrassed" to show his or her birth certificate, unless that person is not an American citizen? It sounds as if both judges knew that Obama had not really been born in Hawaii, before either trial even got started That is the only thing I can think of which would account for both judges using that one particular word, "embarrassment," in denying petitioners the right to discovery!
