I work in the health care field and one of the people I see on a daily basis is schizophrenic. She was released from Western State and we have tried to get her back there but so far, no dice. Her family is overwhelmed and is routinely denied state assistance. I am nervous working one on one with her. She will just turn on a dime. Sad this woman and her family could not get the help they desperately needed. I am, however, on the LEO's side. They did the right thing and probably saved additional lives along with their own. I hope her family and the deputies involved can find some peace. In this area (I'm in Tumwater) if a deer is hit the city will take the deer to them and it's frozen and made into treats for the wolves and coyotes in the sanctuary. My BF dragged me to go and I was so scared. However as soon as I was out that door it was a blast! For some reason I didn't have that falling sensation. It felt more like swimming in deep water (I've heard others describe it as that way as well) The free fall goes very quick but once the parachute is deployed things get very quiet and peaceful. It's awesome to the see the world from that view. People didn't leave their dogs out in their yards. Literally every single neighbor around came to his house to talk to him and let him know that we all are behind him and are watching out for him.
