"wolverine didn't even stab anyone until the 2nd movie!" Wolverine stabbed Mystique during the fight in the Liberty Island visitor center. It is alluded to in X-Men 2 as well during the comical "tent scene". =)

I thought X2 was pretty solid, tbh. It had a cohesive plot, clear character arcs, a minimal cast (for an X-Men film), and a fully realized antagonist. Compared to the other films, X2 felt far more realized. My only fear about Wolverine Origins is that it will feature too many other characters. Gambit is cool and all, but the film is called Wolverine Origins. I'd prefer a more centralized focus on Wolverine (one of the - if not THE - most successful live action super hero incarnation we've seen yet) rather than trying to lure more sales by utilizing "fan favorite" characters as supporting roles. But I guess the movie business, especially with franchises, is about making money though, so I can't really blame them for trying everything they can to maximize interest in the film. I only dislike it when all the extraneous additions detracts from the overall scope of the film.
