Rob: This is not something being lead by John McCain - this is the "National Council for a New America" . Go to: http://republicanwhip.house.gov/newsroom/2009/04/... to find out about it.. Seems like they are listening to us at least. This is NOT a Republican effort, but seems to be a bipartisan attempt to hear what the people want (that is us!!). Please go to the site and read about it before you start blasting them.

Has anyone seen this?? The National Council for a New America - started by Eric Cantor and a few other politicians - not specifically republican. Described as being "Grassroots Caucus to Serve as a Policy-based Forum for Thoughtful Dialogue With the American People". Has a calendar of bills being talked about and voted on. May be something good, Does look like someone is listening...

Were you serious when you said "as a future representative"? Fortunately our congressional represent is a really good guy - Mike Rogers of Michigan. Which State will you be running in if you are serious?

Mike - Michele Bachmann is great - however, I am in Michigan, so unable to contact her office. Have you had anyone answering you who is able to do this. Where are you located. We do need people now to stand up and take the lead.

Dave - unfortunately not - it was an organization someone from 912 put forward so I took a look and thought it seemed good - then when I saw JWilloughby's description of what he thought was needed - this popped into my mind. I am sure research can be done to find out about it though.

liberty4all - I do know exactly how you feel. I actually have an older son who thinks I'm a nut too. He cannot believe that I don't want the government to take over health care, etc. I just received a newspaper article sent to me by my parents in England about how bad the National Health Service has become in England - over 4000 people died last year from mistakes, which were easily avoidable, things like failing to give a 15 year old antibiotics after surgery - she got septicemia and died. People do not want to become doctors any more, partly because of the limited pay they receive, partly because hours are so long, and partly because they just don't have the necessary equipment. It really is scary over there. Be assured, we WILL overcome - we are right, and if we stick together and continue to be the "squeaky wheel" we will make them hear us and change direction.... God be with us all.

JW: My husband and I get a monthly publication from Hillsdale College, called Imprimis - March's edition talked about the current state of the economy and the projected economy with an emphasis on health care. You may be interested in what they have to say - I believe the publication may be found online at Hillsdale.edu, and you may be able to obtain a free subscription by e-mailing them at imprimis@Hillsdale.edu.
