Honestly, it just makes me more disappointed that they went for Penguin Random House in that merger -- they could have been Random Penguin!!!

Oh shit, it just occurred to me that my mother only watches the show on PBS, and I bet she doesn't have as much sex on PBS!

Ah ha! I've not read the books or watched the show, so all of my knowledge and opinions are second-hand.

Apparently she has a lot of sex in the books?

Per my mother: The tv show leaves out all of the interesting parts of the books -- sex, politics, and lesbians.

I've wanted to make it A Thing! But then I run out of time. And now my family picks names. With any luck, this year I'll get the person who loves my previous ones, because I do have a playlist about half-made.

One year I gave mix CDs of holiday music, and I'm pretty sure the reception was mixed, but one person LOVED IT. I know it's old-fashioned, but it's exactly the kind of homemade gift that takes time but not much money.

Ugh, kind of the same here. I'm really focusing on the time I do have. The hour it will take me to get to an event I'm excited to go to, but which already feels exhausting? A hour I can spend with a book or a podcast or whatever and Not Interacting.

I'm a mostly non-church-going Christian, and I like the reminder that some of the "cool kids" are Christian, too!

I can see it being self-reinforcing, for better or for worse: when people see other people's Christian jokes or faith journeys or whatever on the Toast, they're probably more likely to submit their own for publication.
