not accepting a firmware file that hasn't been signed by apples server(only they have the code for creating signatures and it is not possible to duplicate) sauriks server is basically a man in the middle attack on this, in that it is capable of storing old firmware signatures which are unique to every iphone so when apples server no longer responds to requests for vulnerable sig files sauriks
