Brody Harper : Decorations

scale of 1-10 .... we're currently at zero cause we've not done anything yet. We're supposed to get the tree today, and then the insides of our house, when done, will be a 2, maybe 3.... but the outside will likely remain a zero. Unless I put up a few lights, then a 1- ....

I kind of went both ways on this. But I think ultimately, I'd like to see what my kids created - I'm pretty darned happy with my kids who they are now, and I'd like to see who comes along down the road.

the post I linked to is a couple days old, but it's about Giving. My sister is here for an 'early' Christmas. We're doing a mini exchange and having a gourmet cooked meal (of trout!)

Brody Harper : SSS - It's That Time Of Year

I don't know that I can pick just one song. I have to agree with you liking the original (or at least traditional) version of this one. I don't like this one though - although it did make me laugh it was annoying. The one title that came to mind first was "Oh Holy Night" - so maybe that's my favorite. We sang some carol's at church yesterday. I found tears rolling down my face. No "Stats Suck?"

Brody Harper : Stats Suck Sunday - Early Morning

Watched some football from the pub where we played pool this afternoon. I ate so much my stomach is still unhappy with me. My daughter is making some soup that smells REALLY good but I just can't bring myself to eat any - I don't need to eat for another year.

Brody Harper : Tis The Season

Where I live, all the WalMart's are open 24 hours. We were allowed in the store of course, but not allowed to put stuff in our baskets until 5am. I got the KitchenAid Classic stand mixer for $130

Brody Harper : The Day After

I DID the Walmart thing this morning. Typically I'm totally with you Brody on your feelings for Walmart. It brings out the worst in parenting and children's behavior. But, alas, when my son (age 21 and past screaming in Walmart behavior) brought over a torn out piece of paper from the 'while supplies last' section of the Black Friday flier, and quietly mentioned how much he'd appreciate the Kitchen Aide Stand mixer (this after having said the day before that he couldn't think of a thing he needed or even wanted for Christmas), I committed myself to going. Up at 4, at Walmart by 4:30, found my goal, home back in bed by 5:30. I guess Walmart can bring out the best in kids and parents, cause I know my boy will love his new toy! I spent the rest of the day trying to load windows on a new hard drive. It has not been a fun day.

Brody Harper : Thanksgiving Eve Celebration

I'm going to do this without reading everyone else's comments first and as I tap away at the keyboard, the count is 22 ... making me 23 which I wish I'd been here sooner and I was 22, but alas I don't get that number today. I am thankful for: 1) Having found Christ. Everyday I wake up and say "thank you God for this new day," and when I go to bed I say "thank you God for this day!" I'm like a broken record. He loves me. 2) My family. Mark is the most amazing man in the world. He loves me like no one ever has (as my daughter, age 17, has pointed out to me, and she's not always terribly fond of her step dad). I've got two terrific kids that I am deeply grateful for. 3) As cheesy as it sounds coming back to you, Brody, I'm grateful you HAVE A BLOG. It was you and your blog and followers that helped erode my prejudice against Christians. Many other elements in life too of course, but reading your blog daily was certainly a big contributing factor. so THANKS BRODY!! Have a great turkey day with the fam. Life is Good
