He was like some kind of semi-literate hillbilly. Despite his claim of wanting to put the dog out of its misery, did he ever once think about the pain the inflicted on the poor thing? Not to mention the complete betrayal of trust the dog likely felt in its owners. When will people get it through their heads that pets are part of the family, not something you cast away or bludgeon to death when they get sick?
