I think it was John Adams who said...Our constitution was made for a moral and religious people, it is wholly inadequate to govern any others.

The logic is...there is no logic when it comes to BO. BO doesn't have a lot of concern for the lives of the unborn, or our soilders, it's the abortion doctors and our enemies he seems to care about. Don't try to make sense of it.

I hear a lot of retoric on numerous subjects from gun control, federal interstate commerce act, abortion, socialism, and...well, you name it. Point is... I AGREE TOTALY, but what do we do? I am affraid that we have gone so far that we may never return to the government that our founders prescribed if we don't bite off the entire head of the machine. Someone a lot smarter than me needs to tell me what to do next. What are the appropriate steps to getting our government back. How do we the people take it back? I have heard that if enough States hold Constitutional Conventions to re-ratify that this will do the trick. Any truth to this? Should we be pressuring our individual state's representitives to bring this measure to the floor? There has to be a way out, a measure by which we can clearly state the obivious, that our government is way out of control and is exceeding by every measure the authority given it by the constitution. Who knows?

I've smoked for about 35 years. No, it's not good for you, but when I started smoking the majority of adult americans smoked. I could walk into a local convinence store at 14 years old and get free cigarettes. For anyone old enough to remember they had little 4-packs of smaples of various brands right on the counter....FREE. The goverment did not stop this practice because smokers generate revenue for the fed. (THEY WANTED NEW SMOKERS TO REPLACE THE DYING ONES) In fact the vast majority of what you pay for smokes is actually goes to cover the tax. My state recently had a sharp increase on cigarettes, as did the fed. I was paying $28.00 per carton three months ago. The current price is $54.00 per carton, That's like 48% increase. Whether you agree with peoples right to smoke or not, and regardless of the health concerns associated with smoking, THIS TAXATION IS ROBBERY! And now they're after my SCOTCH!

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : America's Wish List

I agree. We should have no foreign debt. In fact George Washington warned of getting into bed with any foreigners on most any matter. We would need a balanced budget ammendment and a way to a structured pay-back of existing debt. Then, if we really sought to do so, we could become an independent seperatist nation. In this mode we would rely only on ourselves for virtually all things....and we have the capability to do it. Start with large (temporary) tax incentives for business wanting to headquarter on U.S. soil. Make it painful for business who want to opperate off shore, etc.

Agree. I hope that I don't sound like a radical myself. This may be the fight of our lifetime, I am affraid. You have to ask yourself why islam came into being where, and when it did, and why it uses so many of the nostic (false) Christian gospels in it's books, and why of all the spots in the world it could choose, it claims several Christian Holy Sites as it's own. It makes you wonder who had anything to fear from Christianity? Only one thay I can think of. And, in our society we dare not speak up to defend the eternal truth. Additionally, we may not be a Christian Nation in that we don't require anyone to agree with our religious views. However, this nation was founded on strict Jewish/Christian Values, and principials. According to George Washington this is the only view which will support our form of Republic.

What? Yes, they do over complicate every law, every measure, and rulling. But really, Luther. I mean Luther! Are we talking about the same Martin Luther who added, and deducted from Holy Scripture to support his altered form of Christainity? Is this the Luther of whom you speak? Maybe you refer to the same Martin Luther who patitioned the Catholic Church to be re-instated, but was refused do to.....well, I'll let that one pass. The Luther referrence may not have been a good one seeing that not only is it inaccurate, but devisive.

I am questioning whether any state has the right to establish firearms law(s) or regulations. Of coarse they do, but it is my understanding that states can't impose laws which over-ride the constitution. Many states have a concealed carry law all of which are a bit different. There may be one or two states with an open carry law? However, the constitution seems to indicate that any individual can carry a gun either concealed or open. So, why all the various state laws? Many of these state laws are prohibitive, and restrictive, and make it difficult to carry a defense wepon. Further, I don't think congress or anyother body should set limits on what sort of gun or ammo that should be permissible. If they can put us in low calibur, single shot weapons, then they can put us down in a hurry.

Exactly Right. Every State that issues a carry permit is probably in violation of the second amendment. I am in favor of background checks to make sure we don't have fellons, or emotionally disturbed individuals running around with guns. How does the government get off limiting what you can carry, and where you can carry, and then charge you for this. But, we do have the right to protect our selves, and our family. Someone with a lot more political moxy than me needs to step up to the plate and challenge these state laws.

Right....Flat tax is better than fair tax as all pay exactly the same percentage. Gun laws.....where do I start. 2nd ammendment states that we the people have the right to keep and bear arms, to protect ourselves against enemies foreign and domestic. But, try carrying your peace-keeper around with you. If your state is like mine, it costs a chunk of change, and the laws are too restrictive. The Constitution didn't mention a fee, or limitations on what I can carry, or where!

Loved the George Washington Quote on the home page today. Actually, I'm not opposed to being seperatist nation. You can buy 100% of what you need in America, from American companies. If we choose to use our energy responsibly we can get by without Saudi Arabia. Use more natural gas, drill more oil wells, etc, this is a long-term bridge to the cheaper, cleaner energy of tommorow. If you don't like a Dodge, buy a Ford, if you don't care for Fords, buy a Chevy. If you don't care for any of these.....walk. We could do this.

Glad to see that we have boilded the top 50 list down to 20. However, the choice of 5 from this list is not enough. We need to ramp it up to 10. There are too many important issues left to only use 25%.

We got Obama because people were disgusted with the business as usuall thing in Washington. The Republicans had an opportunity to show the country how it's done in the first Bush term, but failed to do so. Now, take a large percentage of the population who has never voted, and who sees themselves as down-trodden in our society, and put a guy like Obama in front of them. Couple this with the fact that Obama has his buddies at ACORN signing up everything with a heartbeat to vote for him, and you've got trouble. I think that everyone who votes should be required to first, take a standard IQ Test, and secondly, have a fair knolwedge of American History.
